As Real As Dreams

January: Lars and I make the horror/jubilee movie (Teko Film one year!) "Shivers at Midnight".

July/August: Drive with my family to the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Mosel Valley.

In the summer holiday: Drive to Bergen with my family (via Geiranger and other beautiful sceneries in Western Norway). 

August: I start at Kruseløkka junior high.

I contribute with the detective story "The Mystery in The Old House" in NRK's Children's Hour's Year Book 1981.

Teko Film's fourth movie: The western "Jimmy Johnson And The Family Vendetta".

Lars and I make our last movie: "Teko Film's Merits".

In the summer holiday: Drive to Trondheim (via Lillehammer).

My brother and I get our first 32K home computer and have lots of fun with Basic programming and 8-bit game classics like Sabre Wulf and Knight Lore. 

In the summer holiday: Trip with my family to London.  

I draw my last complete Rasmus book: "The Mysterious Shadow".

August: I start at St Olav high school.

9/2: I lose uncle Hans-Henrik (born 4/14/1919).

I lose grandmum Thora (born 1901).

I take my driving licence.

In the summer holiday: Trip with my family to Paris.

Special topic in my Norwegian class: "Bernhard Borge's Detective Novels". 

Senior student ("russ") celebration. A levels. 12 years of education are over!

I win an essay competion arranged by Alliance Française and win a two-week stay in Paris in June.

In the summer holiday: Trip with my family to Rome.

In the autumn: Studies for the university entrance exam and the preliminary exam for linguistic studies at University of Oslo. 

"My lost year". One-year conscription. First an extremely short drill school at Sessvollmoen. Then 11 months as a pen-pusher at the welfare office at Terningmoen Camp, Elverum.

In the summer holiday: Bus drive with my family to the East Block countries Hungary, Czechoslovakia and East Germany (plus West Germany and Austria).

My brother and I introduce the tradition of "indie pop joyrides" at Sunday evenings in Sarpsborg.

January: I move to Sogn student village and start my basic courses in English at the University of Oslo.

I write several emotional ballads.

May/June: A two-week study course in York.

November: English basic course exams.
