On my pages you will see my attempts at raising various birds and animals, trying new plants and garden designs, and just having fun with my new digital camera. When people want to get to know me as a seller, or plan to do a plant swap with me on a forum, I want them to know who they are dealing with. My website is meant to help with that. My new focus is on Slow Food and Ark of Taste food items.

I like how this website motivates me to get areas of my yard, "picture ready." I grab my camera and head out to take pictures only to see everything from a new perspective, and quick get to work straightening up/overhauling. It is like having company come over. So, some places you may not see for years, but these pages show what I am proud of so far. :)
Our family bought 14 acres and put 3 new homes up beginning in 2005. Sort of an intentional community if you will. Most retirees downscale, but my father decided to have this thing built in his 70's, back in 2005. I moved in to help take care of my mother when she was ill, and then she improved and my dad was diagnosed with cancer and we lost him in '06. So after living in Tokyo and LA and then resigning myself to poverty as a social worker, this rather surprisingly became my home.
Below is an example of the, "just having fun with my camera," part. It was cold and rainy, my sister and I were bored, the Cat in the Hat came to visit, and well, there just isn't explaining why I would put a live houseplant (Swedish Ivy) on my sister's head. But here it is for the world to see. You are a good sport, Cynthia!
