Give a brief description of the book: This is a series of three
books; a fantasy series, written by a Christian man named Stephen
Lawhead. It's about a man named Lewis, or Llew, who is transported into a
fantastical world called Albion, in which, over the course of three books
(Book One: Paradise War, Book Two: Silver Hand, Book Three: The Endless
Knot), he becomes the King of Kings of. It's very Messianic, and has
beautiful imagery and detail. The end is pretty much sad, but very hopeful
and beautiful. :-D I highly recommend it for a good, long read, and a
nice, short cry.

What did you like best about this book? I love Lawhead's detail.
He perfectly describes everything! I admit, it does get a bit tedious,
so if descriptions aren't your cup of tea, there's romance, violence,
intrigue, Messianic themes, Celtic mythology, rejoicing, and tragedy. It
has all the makings of a truly beloved fantasy novel, and if you don't
like fantasy literature, I wouldn't read it. It's pretty much hard-core
fantasy, if there is such a thing! :-D Good stuff.

What ages do you think are best suited for this book? any age

Give a brief description of the book (actually best for 12 and
up)...this book deals with how you view everything related to your
body, purity, and how that ties in with God's word.  It deals with
everything our generation struggles with--from eating disorders to flirting,
romance novels to sex, and a lot of other stuff in between. The main
author (Shannon Ethridge) writes in a totally engaging, inspiring, honest
way that tells you how things really are--and encourages you to take a
long look at how you live your life, and how God wants you to live it. I
recommend this to every girl out there--whether you're born again or
not! Be sure to check it out; you won't regret it! (You might be able to
read an excerpt, or at least get some details, at
www.Christianbook.com)

What did you like best about this book? How very honest, and yet
caring, her writing was.  It spoke right to my heart, and I was able to
see a lot of my actions more clearly. The most important thing you can
do is (besides accepting Jesus' forgiveness of your sins!) pray and
read the bible--but God can use other things to draw you closer to Him and
help you walk that narrow road, and this, I believe, is one of those
books!

Laurel Shadrach Series

Author: Stephanie Perry Moor

This book series is all about sticking to your Christian morals even
when people you know (friends, family) don't.

This first book called, "Purity Reigns" is about staying pure from sex
until you're married. You are put into Laurel Shadrach's world and
difficult topics such as STDs, abortion, and saying "No!" to you boyfriend
arise. This book is not only a great, suspenseful novel, but an
educational, God centered book.

The second book in the series is titled, "Totally Free." This book
covers topics such as gambling, drugs, and alcohol. Also lingering are the
effects  of not staying pure from sex. Temptation is constant, but
Laurel won't give in to flesh, because God is by Laurel's side, just as He
is by your side when you have a difficult decision to make.

The third book is titled "Equally Yoked." Through out the book Laurel
is faced with her on again, off again boyfriend who only wants her for
his fleshy desires. The topic of racism is used throughout the book, but
Laurel is a strong, fair person, and God is with her as she seeks His
advice. Laurel is going to college, and meets a great friend who is a
strong Christian as she is and they share a dorm. Girls in the adjoining
dorm pressure her to get a new dorm-mate because her current is of
African-American descent so they'll have a better chance at getting into a
certain sorority. Laurel follows her heart and realizes that these
racist girls are not going to be her friends, but that true friendship is
colorblind. Laurel doesn't give into temptation, but realizes what it
means to be equally yoked!

I have yet to read the fourth and fifth books in this series, but I
can't wait!

What did you like best about this book?  I love this series,
because not only is it suspenseful, but it is also uplifting. I'm a
fourteen year old Christian girl, and I know it is hard to resist temptation.
You've got to be praying constantly, reading God's word, and thinking,
"What would my Saviour Jesus do in this situation?" These 6 books cover
everything you need to know about being a Christian girl in a world
with temptation. Ages 14-19 would love and relate to these books most, but
even older would feel uplifted and stronger in their faith from these
novels!!! :)
