of course, there's nothing wrong with watching the whóle film on the eternal subject of 'men on the working floor dreaming to get off it', but our biggest interest will be to listen to captain beefheart on a solo tour with a guest vocal to the main title HARD WORKIN' MAN - especially as this version contains some other words - hard workin' fucked over man - than the song that was officially released on the soundtrack album (and the single). a perfect chance to hear the 'dirty' performance for the first time if you don't know it from the bootleg 'if you got ears'...

some other musicians playing along the film are howlin' wolf with 'wang dang doodle' and an occasional band around the composer of most of the other (mainly instrumental) tracks, jack nitzsche, and ry cooder - beefheart's slide guitarist during three 'safe as milk' months...
