although not the ceedee with the same title that is a shuffled version of the 'safe as milk' album, again an unnecessarily
confusing beefheart-in-a-mix record. it is a compilation of songs which he made during his contract with 'buddah', despite the fact that the album 'strictly personal' actually was released by another label. it is the first (and only, i hope) time this latter recording is combined with the umpteenth [!] "safe as mirror man" combination, although it's nice the used tracks are not from the old flower-power release but 'the alternate captain beefheart'. but anyway i wonder why this strange collection was made - surely not because someone asked for it. with four replicas of a 1969 photo on the front (when he wasn't a buddah anymore).
