    LightWork
    by Ted L Glines

    Is it from jealousy
    anger or spite
    or some perverse spin
    on wrongness or right
    that some will attack
    anything bright
    as if to deny
    the goodness of light?

    We seek to bring
    sweetness and calm
    to chaotic souls
    in search of balm
    a hug for the lonely
    a hopeful psalm ...

    But some will be angry
    and rant and rail
    bitterly try
    to make us fail
    blanket our light
    while they weep and wail
    and worship their dark
    like some holy grail.

    In spite of them all
    in pure delight
    we go forth to bring
    salve to all blight
    to wipe away tears
    and clear your sight
    so our world may sing
    in love and light.

Lightworkers: those who soothe the soul, inspire the masses, heal the mind and/or body, and teach seekers the ways of truth and light. Lightworkers do their functions both in public and private, and are those beautiful souls that are sought when there is another in need. Their methods are mostly gentle, nurturing, encouraging, empowering, or enabling in nature. The lightworker sees the beauty in all things, all the time.

Lightwarriors: those who make known all sides of any given issue or topic. Those who defend and fight for light and truth, either in the earth or astral realms. Those who restore, fight for, and keep balance in all things. Lightwarriors can and often do those things that lightworkers do as well, but most often in a closed and one-on-one setting, and methods used may differ than those of most light workers. The lightwarrior methods may include the diplomatic but direct approach, bluntly honest in nature, but offering encouragement and support where needed and warranted. The lightwarrior approach may range from gentle and nurturing to a more intense, empowering "tough love" approach. Lightwarriors are aware of both sides of the coin, and defends the light by making all sides of an issue known, no matter how unpleasant or controversial.  ~MaianiSanTarai

To enscribe your days and nights
with all your rhythm and your rhyme,
such wondrous lights are best expressed
in the Holy words of mime.

    Don't you know yet
    that I cannot say no
    when supplication
    flies from your lips?

    I hear weeping before
    it begins and bend
    to undo pain that
    has not yet torn you.

    I scan the path for
    stones and thorns
    before your footfall
    has touched the earth.

    Listen for a moment
to that bird in the tree
    over there and if you
    listen with my ears for
    just a moment you
    will hear your cries,
    the ones that have not
    yet left your mouth.

And on the Eighth Day ...

Photo above is the Helix Nebula, presented by NASA
as "Astronomy Picture of the Day" on 10 May 2003.
It was a composite photo, taken from the Hubble Space Telescope
and by the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Tucson, Arizona.
Color was enhanced. Someone gave it the title, "The Eye of God."

    Box
    by Ted L Glines

What we’ve read - been told

forms the frame - what we behold

and just like twenty-four hour clocks

we think inside a wee small box

while paths of wonder we never tread

and "newness" brings a sort of dread

mayhap it’s better not to know

    to paralyze our status quo

    we were taught Creation’s tale

six days to build - He did not fail

then what happened? There, we guessed it

on the seventh day He rested

and that’s the way the story stayed

an old old song so often played

and no one wonders what He may

have done on His eighth day

but that’s the way our story goes

we look no further than our nose

in lives of boring greying cold

bound by what we’ve read - been told.

    Question
    by Ted L Glines

    eight years in the desert
    little man on a quest
    chasing the spiral
"on his horse with no name"
    seeking the answer
    in peyote dreams
    Coyote dance

    forty days and forty nights
    wave tossed
    the little man prayed
    his holy faith
    knowing God
    had the answer

    in the swirling mists
    atop his magick mountain
    the little man dreamed
    fasting - centered
    open for the answer
    awaiting the Light

    deep inside the walls
    a place for the insane
a little man found his secret
    his eons-sought answer
    in a brilliant vision
    Blinding Light spoke unto him
    and said
"there has never been a question."

    they keep the little man
    sequestered
    and
    safe
    he smiles
