bouquets of roses
accolades
to the muse
for rousing the rabble - making them refuse
the narcotic trance meant to pacify the masses,
from those palisades of power - leaders throned on their asses,
who offer a rebate - on things priced too high,
pushing selling greeding til the cash cow runs dry,
in solemnity lords judge - and break their own golden rules
so sure their congregation is a sheepish pack of fools,
debt - the accelerator - in the middle class squeeze
bleeding wealth to the top - a social disease,
the poet sees this melanoma - spreading world system wide,
a rotting corpus neglecti - goodness cannot abide,
you must be an eager poet - a superhero in deed,
a performing surgical stiletto - removing cancerous greed,
amid the roiling psychobabble - you dare to make the news
all hail to the poets
