About Us:
|
Team Misplaced is a competition paintball based out of the Quad Cities, Iowa. The team was formed in November of 2001. In the beginning, the original members of the team went into a Dick?s Sporting Good?s chain store which happened to be located behind our neighborhood. After the convincing of our parents, we went in, and purchased our first paintball markers. The first place we went to play was in the field down the street from our houses. We built man made bunkers, and just practiced and played speedball. In fact, the first field we actually built was a speedball field; we pretty much just skipped the woods fields completely. Soon, people from around the Quad Cities started to come and play with us. This was a very crucial time in the team?s history, as it defined which direction the team was going to take. As you might know, we chose to play strictly tournament paintball only. With these people coming to our field to play on a regular basis, it gave our team a chance to practice with more experienced players, a crucial key in our team?s success that we still enforce today. Our first professional field we played on was at Total Paintball, in Eldridge, IA. We practiced here for about a year before moving on to play with our current sponsor and home field Team Products Paintball, located just outside of Iowa City, IA. Not only do we love playing there, but we also play against some of the best paintball teams in Iowa, such as Team Spank and Team Connection. We hold team practices every weekend, and we just like to come out and play hard and gain skills that are needed at higher levels of tournament play. Another aspect that our team prides itself on is our team camaraderie. Seven out of eight of our players are still in school, and of those seven players, five of them attend the same school. We pretty much see our entire team together almost every day. Our team is now 8 members strong, and we are always looking for players who love the game, and are willing to dedicate the time and effort it takes to play on a tournament team. We are a rookie/novice team and are soon going to be active in the NPPL/PSP tournaments around our area. We would like to thank all the people who support us and everyone who makes this team happen. |

October 5 ~ On October 4, Misplaced took a trip to compete in the last leg of the Evil Heartland 7-man series. The weather was PERFECT. Clear skies, about 75 degrees, and great competition. We played 7 preliminary games, and after the 7 games, we were in 1st place by 81 points with a score of 509. Next came the three finals games. We wonm the firt one and lost the next two putting us in a disappointing 4th place. Overall, the series was a real hit. The god clock was a great way to keep games going smoothly and on time, and every venue was awesome, with green fluffy goodness to play on.
September 7 ~ The weekend of September 6 and 7 we headed to Sprinfield, IL for the third tournament in the Evil 7 man series. 16 teams showed up to play this well run tourney. Beautiful weather also made the tournament a great experience. Saturday we played 6 preliminary games, winning 4, losing 1 and stalemating another. This gace us enough points to make semi finals the next as the 1st ranked team in our bracket, 2nd ranked overall. Sunday we played 3 semi finals games, winning two and losing one. This gave us enough points to head to finals ranked third overall. In finals we played 3 games, winning 2 and again losing 1. We came in 2nd place at the days end and scored $2000 in AKA products, entry to next tournament, and a subsription to PB Nation magazine. All in all the tournaments was well run, reffing was great excpet for one or two games where the reffing completely sucked for us. ( Calling a 1 for 1 for a paintball hit that the ref didn't or couldn't see). But all refs are human to. We'll definitaly be back in Indeanapolis for the last leg of the tournament.
August 3 ~ Our team went up to Fon du Lac, WI, at Full Hopper Paintball for a 5-man open class event. 14 teams showed up to play, and the format was single round robin, that meant we had 13 games to play before the days end. We won 10, stalemated 2, and lost one to beat out Insolence by 5 points and take first place and $1050. Thanks to all the teams who showed up, and thanks to the refs for a great job.
July 25 ~ We would like to welcome two new players to our team. Mike Unger and Eric Johnson. Mike will be running up front for us and Eric will be playing the mid insertion spot. Pictures and bios will be up on the site soon.
July 3 ~ Brad Day unfortunately fractured his elbow and will not be able to play for 3-5 weeks. We all send our condolenses and hope that the elbow heals quickly.
June 25 ~ Chi-town, what is there to say. Good weather , then torrential downpour. 2 hour delays in the cold rain, then 5 miinute turn around games. To top it all off, we played like crap. winning only one of our 8 preliminary games, we definitely found out we need to work alot harder. Good job to Riven who finished 7, and Connection Gold, who missed semi finals by only 2 points. So, I thinkwe have decided to play the Warped Sportz 3-man event on July 27. Sounds like fun, 1st place is 3 Dark Cockers. We hope to win.
