If you are interested in being a member of Team Lightm Up, please read all the information on this page.
Please note that the rules are a work in progress. Team members are encouraged to read them from time to time to check for changes and to serve as a reminder of good character and sportsmanship.
Character ON and OFF the Field.
Although you are not required to be a Christian to be on the team, the leadership of this team are Christians and we will act accordingly. As a member of Team Lightm up, you should maintain a high standard of moral character and integrity on and off the field.
Sportsmanship during the game
As a team member you agree:
a. To behave in a safe, courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times. Never using profane or insulting language and avoiding all physical contact with all other persons. I further agree to obey the instructions of all referees and team leaders.
b. To wear approved safety goggles at all times when I am on the playing field.
c. Refrain from consuming any alcohol or any medications which might impair my judgment or physical coordination while on the premises.
d. To remain in the boundaries of the playing field.
e. To use my paintball gun in a safe and responsible manner with due regard for the safety of all persons including myself.
f. To maintain my paintball gun so that the velocity does not exceed two hundred eighty-five feet per second (285 fps).
g. To be careful of overshooting other players. Because of the risk of overshooting, I will not blind fire on any game.
h. To not wipe paint or play on when paint breaks. I will have the integrity to call myself out of the game and remove myself from the field of play.
i. To have respect for team members, to always talk to and about them with kindness.
A Word to Student members.
As a student, you should remember that your first goal is your education, not paintball. Students should maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and a passing grade in every subject. Failure to do so will put you on a probationary status with the team.
Removable from the team.
Incidents reported by two or more members will be addressed by the executive committee. Anything seen by a member of the executive committee will be addressed.
Should your conduct become an embarrassment to the team, you will be given the opportunity to resign. If you choose not to, the executive committee will vote on your membership privileges. Members who have been removed by vote of the executive committee may not join the team again at a later date. One who resigns, may be considered for membership by the executive committee after a reasonable period of time.
Should you fall to show for announced games or practice for 2 months, without cause, you may be placed on a different squad or removed from the team.
Required Equipment.
Every team member is required to have their own marker.
For players under 18 we highly recommend a Hunter Safety Course. If someone shows poor marker safety, we may require completion of a HSC to continue play.
In the future we will also require for all members to have military style Digital Woodland BDUs (about $60 online) and possibly a team patch.
