TEAM HISTORY

My dad, John has raced snowmobiles for 25 years and got me started driving snowmobiles at a very young age. I started racing ice lemans at the age of 14 with him all over Minnesota and Wisconsin. The circuit that we followed was at the time called WSA Pro-Ice. That year, I won numerous races and ended up taking 2nd place in the year end overall point standings in the Junior 14-15 500 fan class. The next year I moved up to the Junior 16-17 500 and Sport classes. I again had much success, winning many races. I took 3rd in the year end overall points in the Junior 16-17 class and 1st in the Sport 500 Fan class. The next year I advanced to the Semi-Pro ranks. This would be the biggest test yet for my racing career. I again excelled, taking my first ever Semi Pro win in style by sweeping the Semi Pro Stock races in Detroit Lakes, MN, only the second race of the season. This was also the first year that we headed out to the prestigious Eagle River World Championships, to race against the best on the planet. I came home with 2nd place in Semi-Pro 500 and 3rd place in Semi-Pro 600. That year, I finished 3rd in points in the Semi-Pro 500 class and 4th in points in Semi-Pro 600. When the 2002-2003 race season began, I knew that there was a lot expected of me and that I had to perform. I did just that by winning races and staying in the hunt all season, finishing 2nd place in points in both Semi-Pro Stock classes.

This past season, 2003-2004, was by far my most successful season ever as a snowmobile racer. I made the huge transition from the Semi-Pro ranks to the Pro ranks. As a Pro racer, I learned many things as to what it takes to do well. I progressed physically, in that I was able to run as many laps as demanded of me, without tiring. I progressed mentally, in that I became a much smarter and more “patient” racer. These progressions are what helped me to have the year that I did.

This last season includes many milestones and highlights of my career. My greatest accomplishment came after my advancement from Semi-Pro to Pro, with my first ever Pro win. At the Park-X Ice race in Hill City, MN, I was able to come away with first place in Pro Stock 500. Another high point occurred at Frostbite Days in Roseau, MN, where in the hometown of Polaris Industries, I gained a 3rd place finish in the 30 lap feature race. In the end, I was able to pull of 3rd place in points in both Pro-Stock 500 and Pro-Stock 600.

This year, I look forward to competing full-time in the Pro-Stock 500 and Pro-Stock 600 classes, along with running a Champ 440 machine in the Semi-Pro-Champ and Semi-Pro-Open classes. We will again follow the WSA Extreme Ice circuit to all of its destinations across the Midwest and Canada. We will also be racing at the Eagle River World Championships and select other USSA Pro Star series races. We are also considering running the Grand Prix de Valcourt, out east in Quebec, Canada.
