SEPTEMBER 21ST - JUNIOR BANGER

NOT THE BEST OF FIRST MEETINGS!

Well it was not the best of mmetings for me. We got the car there we started it which waS a good sign, but things were about to change!!

We took the car of the trailer and got my mum to give it a bump start we got it going but there was no life in the old dog :( There was just no powerwhen you put your foot down. I thought that was it then end of my racing before it had even begun.

My mum then had a talk to Steve Hardy she explained what was happening and he knew exactly what was wrong. Lance had not put a return pipe on so Steve set to and sorted the problem CHEERS MATE. But while this was going on I was getting told off by a certain birthday lady (Janet) "I've come all this way to watch you and your not racing" ooops!! So after the pipe was fixed i took around the pits a couple of times and it was running fine (finally!!) next thing strap me in I got my harness adjusted and I was ready to go.

So here we go, I pulled on to the track thinking 'this isn't happening' I pulled up to my starting position and looked across so see Andrew Molloy he gave me the thumbs up which gave me a little boost. The rolling lap started and my pants were brown, the green flag dropped and I was off the car just took off i was shocked but after the first corner I thought it was over I got drivers doored and the armco came to say hello but I manged to control it, then after a lap and a half I realised I was still in first ooops! so I stuck it in second and I was flying I was really going for it I took a couple of the cars out (C&M Motors) sorry lads!! I was just getting the hang of it and the chequered flag was out gutted. But I was well chuffed I got a 4TH not bad for my first race! I'LL HOPEFULLY BE RACING AT CHRISTMAS!!

I'd like to THANK all the people that cheered me on JOSIE, JANET (40), EMMA, MUM, DAVE, MY COUSINS and anyone else, THANKS!!

I'd also like to thank LANCE, BEN, MARK, DAVE, MUM and ME DAD for help with the car and any bits that were lent, CHEERS!!

!DANNY HAS A JUNIOR BANGER!

I have purchased a junior banger for the 21st Sept it is a Rover 214i I bought it for £30 off my mate.

SUNDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER

It was race day but not at 1:30 in the morning I was painting the car in its beautiful red livery but I forget to tell people at the track that the paint was wet (Josie, Nick) oops sorry!

SATURDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER

We were up early to finish the car off I had the job of smashing the glass yey!! After I did that we had to put the seat in place and then I had to fit the hoses for the steam tank which was not a problem and then my dad started sorting the wiring out and the starting block.

WEDNESDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

We have finally got some good news!! the role cage is in and bolted down the petrol tank is in and bolted down and tomorrow night (Thursday) the battry box will be bolted to the floor seat secured and then we will fit the steam tank, the hole is drilled and ready to fit. We also need to put the bonnet bolts in but that may have to be done on Friday night. We might even have time to give it a lick of paint.

MONDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER

I have got the car home and I was workin on it last night it I ripped the front bumper off and theres a big hole and not alot of protection for the engine. Oh well ill have to be careful with it. It might be ready so ill hopefully see you all sunday.

SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER

I have hit a problem with the car my mate has done all he can with the car and my mum wont let me bring it home, so i've got no where to store it so I might be scraping it. So if anyones intrested please email me on Danielpotts100@aol.com. If the storage of the car is sorted It will be posted on here as soon as possible.

MONDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER

We have finally sorted out the wires, the door plate has been painted and sign written, all that needs doing is the roll cage needs putting in, steam tank needs repairing and then fitting and then car is ready for spraying. My number board also needs to be sorted out.

FRIDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER

We are having more trouble with the car the wires on the car are everywhere and we dont know which wire is which. Anyway forget about that we have finally got the radiator out and we will be plumbing the radiator shortly. We are hoping to get the car sorted for next week.

OVER LAST 2 WEEKS

I have been informed that my banger ready for fuel tank and plumbing and harness. It might even be making an apperance on Championship Day, just to get used to the car and work out braking points. The car will be sprayed in team colours and will follow in the number sequence and I will be number 400, number 300 was used last year so I cant use it.

THURSDAY 7TH AUGUST

We got the dashboard out and we got most of the trimmings from inside off. We still need to take the bumpers off and then the lights. I got my mini aerofoil cleaned and polished, its now ready for painting.

WEDNESDAY 6TH AUGUST

We started stripping the car out we got quite alot done. Most of the interior was out. We only had to take the bumpers dashboard and the rest of the trimming from inside. I took the car for a quick spin, its a quick car I just hope it handles ok.
