Who are we?

The TeachIT team is made up of just two members, Grant Rhodes and Ruth Wiseman. Having worked as English teachers in Taiwan, we've made many contacts and picked up a lot of experience along the way. Working and living in Taiwan is considerably different to life in South Africa, so we are here to ensure that your transition into life in the East is as smooth and hassle-free as possible.

Unlike many agents out there, we require no agents' fees, training fees, recruitment fees or any other money from prospective teachers. We will not try to sell you anything or convince you to part with money. We are a 100% FREE service and all we ask for is a little of your time.

So, if you're still interested, why not take a look around this site. Hopefully we have managed to address most of your questions and given you an insight into what the teaching life is like in Taiwan. And, if you are keen to join the hundreds of South Africans now working in Taiwan and making a lot of money, let us know and we'll do our best to get you over there.

*** Please note that we are no longer recruiting teachers to work in Taiwan. We have left this site up and running though for your information. Some of this information provided may be old, so please make use of other web sites in conjunction with ours to update your info***

Contact information

Once we have electronic copies of your degrees, a recent ID-type photograph, a copy of your passport (to ensure that the name in your passport matches that on you degree/diploma) and an indication of when you would like to arrive in Taiwan, we will submit your details to our Taiwanese contacts.

Bear in mind that the job market for teachers in Taiwan fluctuates throughout the year and we cannot guarantee jobs. We will do our utmost to find jobs though. If you have not heard from us within 2-4 weeks of submitting your details, assume that we have been unable to organise a job.

We are here to help you get to Taiwan with a minimum of cost and hassle. We will put you in contact with interested schools in Taiwan and assist in the visa application. We will help in any way possible but we do not organise everything for you. Your visa application is your responsibility and we will accept no responsibility for any problems incurred (we are not an agency and don't expect payment from you for our services). We try to help you bypass the agencies and save money. You really don't have to pay someone money to get to Taiwan. What we will do is to try and make sure that everything proceeds as smoothly as possible.
