A copy of the letter received from the above organsiation:
Hi Elizabeth,
It`s was a pleasure for us(Kirkcaldy Tartan Army) to select you as one of the beneficiaries from the money raised at our St Andrews night dance.A great night was had by all and we manage to raise £750,£375 to T.CAS and £375 which will go to Forth Park Maternity Hospital(childrens unit)Kirkcaldy.
When T.CAS was brought to our attention and with the KTA being predominately a male club it wasn`t difficult to decide that T.CAS should be chosen to be one of our beneficiaries along with the fact that most if not all our members have been affected by cancer(not necessarily Testicular) through a parent, relative or friend.
We the KTA and Scotland supporters in general are portrayed by some, mainly the media of being kilt wearing, beer swilling, out for a good time football supporters(guilty as charged)but we do have a serious side and that is raising money for worthwhile causes.Since we were established in late 2001 we have raised over £4000 for good causes from helping a young kid in Bosnia who lost both his legs in a landmine incident,Victoria Hospital(childrens ward)Kirkcaldy,Maggies Centre(Hospice/cancer unit) Kirkcaldy, orphanages in countries abroad when we go to watch Scotland playing and now T.CAS.It`s been a pleasure.
With there being over 160 people at our dance here`s hoping we`ve helped a little to raise the profile of you organisation, what your about and the fantastic work that you do.
I received T.CAS bank details by email from Biff and Steve Young and a cheque from the KTA for £375 will be deposited into the account before lunchtime today.
Keep up the great work that you all do and have a wonderful Xmas and New Year.
