In a few episodes, they had Heidi wear various denim-based attires. Now, I'm not particularly fashion-conscious, and I have to frequently ask my female friends for sartorial advice. However, something seemed a bit off about these outfits to me, for reasons that elude me.
I do suppose that they closely resemble the type of clothes that a tool person might wear to work, but they still seem a bit "off," for lack of a better term—and I say this as a straight guy who's not strongly interested in seeing a lot of exposed flesh. (As far as I'm concerned, less is often more when it comes to physical pulchritude.)
I suppose they could have dressed her up in flannel, much like Richard Karn's character on the show, Al Borland. That might not have gone over well with some of the viewers, though.
