Africa Awakening Online Magazine was established by Tony Tokunbo Fernandez in the summer of 2000. This online medium provides a wealth of information, news and entertainment for our growing audience in The UK, The States and many parts of West Africa.
Our mission is to provide you with the very best of factual information on Arts, Culture, Lifestyle and Entertainment. Our topics range from the work of various African Writers, Poetry, West African History, African Proverbs, African & West Indian Recipes, Jokes, An Online Directory of Black owned businesses, A Photo Gallery, An Events Calender and new topics of interest that come in every quarter.
Aims and Objectives
1. To promote the needs and interests of Africans, West Indians and Black British Communtiy in different parts of the world in the most practical and possible ways.
2 To share and exchange valuable knowledge and information amongst our brothers and sisters in various communities.
3. To act as a medium where information on services are promoted and shared, with the aim of bringing together a network of people from different backgrounds who can make a difference to the bigger picture of Life.
4. To provide educational information on various themes and subjects on West Africa with the aim of putting together an online library of useful facts on African Identity and Heritage.
5. To encourage people from African and West Indian origin to come together as one family and share in the harmony and understanding of mutual awareness.
6. To encourage mutual awareness and community engagement with our brothers and sisters in Europe and other parts of the world and in the process enlighten them on the postive values and profound history of The African continent.
7. To encourage our children at a very early age to learn African History, African Languages and the moral values that are enhanced with what it takes to be African and Civilised.
8. To love, share and support one another in the very same way we love ourselves.
