Breed Specific Legislation ( BSL) is the banning or restricting of certain breeds of dogs in cities, regions or in some cases even the entire state. Due to an unfamiliarity of the breed, isolated incidents, irresponsible ownership and sometimes even mistaken identify: the American Pit bull Terrier is unfortunately a very popular target for BSL enthusiasts. On this page of the web site you will find links and/or information on the states/areas already affected by BSL and the currently proposed legislation. Be aware that although BSL is discriminating against a specific breed and is sometimes unfair it does exist and it is happening... please make sure to do your part in being a responsible owner and not a statistic.
