Hello fellow Tatra enthusiasts! Welcome to the online Tatra Model Campaign. Our goal is to convince a major 1/18 scale manufacturer to release a T87 model. We believe the Tatra factory has never been given proper recognition as one of the most innovative and interesting automobile companies ever.
Under the great Hans Ledwinka they introduced, among others, aerodynamics and rear mounted air-cooled engines, thus leading the way for Porsche's KDF wagen. This car was later to become known as the Volkswagen Beetle, one of the most popular cars of all time. Without the genius of Mr. Ledwinka neither the 911 or the Beetle would exist today.
It's time for us Tatra fans out there to stand up and show that our numbers are underestimated, and that there is indeed a market for a mass-produced 1/18 scale model of the Tatra T87. Of course even if every Tatra fanatic in the world bought one of these proposed models, it still probably wouldn't justify the cost of producing one. However, the car does have an undeniable presence which would definitely appeal to all, even those unfamiliar with the marque.
