Free Computer Courses:

Computer training courses are being planned for the C@P Site at the North Shore Community Development Centre. One-on-one and group training will be available. Group course topics will depend on demand. One-to-one courses can be taught on a variety of subjects.

If you need help with:

  • Computer basics (for beginners)
  • Creating posters, brochures, fliers, resumes, business cards, etc.
  • Using Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) or other computer programs
  • Using E-mail, instant messaging, webcams, and social utility sites (ex. Facebook)
  • Using the internet
  • Digital photography, photo editing, sharing photos over the internet
  • Other course subjects are available upon request

Location:

The Tatamagouche C@P Site is located inside North Shore Community Development Centre (225 Main Street, Tatamagouche). It is on the second floor of the building.

There are also C@P Sites in The Balmoral Motel, Fraser Cultural Centre, and the Tatamagouche Library.

The C@P Summer Youth Intern is available during the above hours and some evening hours, for computer courses, upon request.

 

Summer Events

KIDS HOUR!

Tuesday afternoons (Starting July 20th and ending August 10th) from 2:00 - 3:00 is Kid's Hour at the Tatamagouche C@P Site (North Shore Business Centre, Upper Level). Each week there will be a different theme and kids will be able to play computer games that go along with that theme!

Digital Cameras: Basic Use Information Session

Thursday, August 8th, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm This information session will focus on the basic properties of the digital camera:

  • Turning camera on
  • Different settings on the camera
  • Tips for taking good photos

What is a C@P Site?

The Community Access Program (C@P) is a Government of Canada initiative, administered by Industry Canada, which aims to provide Canadians with public access to the Internet and the skills they need to use it effectively.

C@P Sites provide internet service, computer support and training in computer programs.

C@P Sites are located in many cities, towns and communities across Canada. Many C@P sites are located in schools, community centers, or libraries, but they may be found in any public place.

 

What can the Tatamagouche C@P Site do for me?

Anytime the C@P Site is open, you can use the C@P Site to gain internet access.

You can use our computer to type up a resume, print off a document, check your email, surf the web, use instant messenger... anything you need!

We have a CD burner, copier, printer and scanner for the public to use.

If you have any questions, or need assistance feel free to ask the C@P Summer Youth Intern for help!

What does it cost to use the C@P Site?

Internet access and the use of computer programs costs $2.00 per session (with a one hour time limit if there are others waiting to use the computer) OR $15.00 for a one year membership!

There is a small cost for printing documents:

Other Items:

During North Shore Community Development Association Office hours, photocopying and fax machine use are available to C@P Users.
