The sable cavy is avery rare old breed hardly seen these days on the show benches. The sable is essentially a shaded cavy that comes in a variety of colours and coats, but best seen in short coated sepia colour.
Currently Tartuffe has 4 sable boars and 9 sable sows (all purebred) that are forming the foundation of the Sable stud. There are also a number of Marten Sables popping out every so often from a small line that has come from stock originating from Crystal Cavies.
