Welcome to Tarrabelle Burmese Cats.

My name is Abbie Burns, Im 17 years old from Berwick in Vic. I purchased my first burmese, Bella, in 2002 , and ever since then, have fallen in love with this breed. I thoroughly researched the burmese in books and on the net, walked around cat shows and chatted to breeders, who shared a wealth of knowledge with me. I registered with the G.C.C.F.V with my mum and registered our prefix, Tarrabelle. So where does that name come from?
This name has a great meaning to me and my family. Back in the days , my Grandfather , Lindsay Appleyard had a very successful Tarraville Jersey Stud farm. He came from the small country town of Tarraville, hence the name. When he passed away, my uncle, Andrew Appleyard carried on the tradition of farming in the family, and also created a currently still successful farm called Tarralyn (after lindsay my grandpa) Jersey stud farm, breeding many champion Jersey cattle.I decided to carry on the family tradition, naming my prefix , Tarrabelle , the belle section named after my first burmese Bella.I hope too , to carry on the family's reputation for succesful breeding programs, in my burmese cats.

So I then found Cherie Powels, from Shunra Burmese. Cherie has helped with almost everything in getting me started as a breeder. She is highly responsible and I respect her a great deal. Cherie led me in the direction of Yvonne Francis for my first queen. Yvonne was absolutely wonderful, and taught me alot . I purchased Dolly out of Ch. Chizelle Chamariko and Tranquility Sweet Molly. Dolly has been an amazing start to what i think will be a bright future at Tarrabelle. I'm excited to see the progeny out of Dolly, as she has a great head, lovely colour and her mothers amazing eye colour. In her nervous first show she placed 2nd and 4th , and i hope to get her on the show bench more. I aim to be a responsible, reputable and reliable burmese breeder and I hope i can contribute to improving the breed.

I am an honest person, who will ask questions if i need to upfront, and accept mistakes, but aim to eliminate them in anything we do. The burmese is a fantastic and energetic breed of cat with a happy future ahead. With the right care and knowledge of this breed, I hope many of us can help improve this wonderful breed. Please don't hesitate to email or ask me any questions if need be. I will be happy to answer.
We also own a 5 year old Golden Retriever named Bonnie and an 11 year old Boxer named Ruby .
I have a passion for the Golden Retriever as well. They are definately my favourite dog breed, and I love meeting people assosciated within the golden retriever community.I've researched alot about the Golden Retriever and they always catch my eye whenever i see one out and about. They have a great temperament and just a general happy nature. I've owned Ruby since i was just 5 years old, she is a very special dog to me.
