TAPLOW PLAYERS REBEL
As we are sure you are aware there has been some goings on at the football club that we as players are not happy about. Basically a player has been given a 'life' ban from the club due to the incident that took place at the annual awards ceremony a few weeks ago (I'm sure you have all heard about it by now).
The player was well within his rights as he was defending himself and the club. The commitee has seen fit to 'ban' this player SOLELY on the strength of ONE persons side of the story. They have NEVER asked anyone (other than the person mentioned) to give their side of the story. They haven't even had the decency to talk to the player directly about their decision.
This situation is wholly unnacceptable, and as such we the players have found it neccassary to present the commitee with a petition. The petition is asking them to review their decision. We are not asking for the ban to be lifted with immediate effect or without any consultation. What we are asking for is for them to review the decision and the manner in which it was taken, as we feel that there has been a huge mistake and the commitee should have the chance to put right that mistake. Unfortunately whilst this issue is pending we are not attending training at Taplow. We are however training elsewhere in the hope that when this is resolved we will be able to slot back into training without having 'lost ground' in pre-season.
