Our Mission Statement

Learning Outside the Classroom 1) Every child has the ability to learn and must be prepared for a lifetime of learning. Our goal is to create an innovative, supportive environment that encourages excitement and purpose in learning.

2) TAOL endeavors to bridge the gap between students, families, educators and the community. Family and community involvement can have a strong and positive effect upon student achievement and the overall success of a school.

3) Learning occurs gradually as children grow and develop. Children learn successfully by having a solid foundation of knowledge aquired in the early years, which can be built upon with further knowledge as their education progresses. Knowledge builds on knowledge.

4) Successful learning takes place when students are actively engaged in the learning process. Toledo Academy of Learing encourages children to learn by doing. We draw upon the resources of the community to bring thr "real world" to the classroom as well as taking students to real life situations in the community.

Science Activity

History Fair 5) Our educational program offers continuous learning opportunities and combats the problem of teacher burnout and summer boredom.

6) Finally, we are interested in developing well-balanced children who can face the moral as well as intellectual challenges of our society. The program at Toledo Academy of Learing helps students learn and apply fundamental values such as honesty, responsibility, fairness and kindness. As was once said, knowledge without character is an incomplete education.
