Sian Hall will be presenting her Powerpoint Presentation The Deep Origins of the Rhodesian Ridgeback in Johannesburg in M
id October 2009. This talk explore the ancient origins of the Rhodesian Ridgeback to the point of the missionaries Helm obtaining their two ridged bitches in the Cape Province of South Africa. This talk will delve deeply into Africa's indigenous hounds, ancestors of the Rhodesian Ridgeback, their migration routes and relationship to African people stemming some 2000 years ago.
Sian will also be presenting Pathpadders Out-of-Africa Tour to Austria to Visit Austrian Ridgeback Kennels and general tour of Austria in May 2010. This tour will begin in Vienna and wend its way through the fairytale land to conclude in Innsbruck.
Numerous Ridgeback Kennels will be visited. We will also explore the cities of Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck, and the town of Hallstat. Included in the tour will be the Spanish Riding School, home to the dancing white Lipizzaner horses, wolves, castles, fortresses, palaces, sled dogs, ice caves, mountains, scenery, a tour to cultures in the alps and an excursion into the Czech Republic to the UNESCO acclaimed World Heritage Medieval City of Cesky Krumlov.
Both talks will take place in mid October in Johannesburg, South Africa. Venue and exact date still to be confirmed.
