In the light of the recent TVUUC shootings in Knoxville...this statement I found on the web somewhere (don't remember where) is especially poignant and timely. August 1, 2008.





Thank A Liberal...

It has become quite popular, in some circles over the years, to hate the Liberal. Their name has been vilified, made a swear word where it once was a badge of pride. It has been drug through the mud, lampooned and parodied as if it were equal to the greatest crimes the world has ever known. In a dramatic example of Orwellian inverted reality, the Liberal - the very personification of human advocacy - has been identified with just the opposite.

But, after years of seeing exactly what the opposers to Liberalism have to offer, we are rediscovering the virtue of American Liberalism. We are realizing again why it is the sunlight in the darkness of regressive fear and loathing, the hope in a sea of cynicism and sociopathy, the soul in a pit of callous disregard for the human condition. We are discovering anew that the Liberal encompasses all that is good about America.

So what exactly has the Liberal done for us?


If you are a minority, and can cast a vote for the candidate of your choice....Thank a Liberal.

If you can sit on a bus, go to a restaurant or theater, or attend the university of your choice without regard to your race, creed or gender....Thank a Liberal.

If you have ever marched in the streets to redress government for grievances, free from fear of violence against you in retaliation....Thank a Liberal.

If your children can attend school regardless of your income....Thank a Liberal.

If your children have a school lunch program available to them....Thank a Liberal.

If a poor, inner city gifted child receives a grant that starts them on their careers....Thank a Liberal.

If you are a veteran and get government financial help for medical, housing or schooling....Thank a Liberal.

If you are a senior citizen, and receive social security....Thank a Liberal.

If you lost a parent during your dependent years, and receive Survivors Benefits....Thank a Liberal.

When wars of aggression are cut short from a public outcry....Thank a Liberal.

When you breathe clean air and drink safe water....Thank a Liberal.

When you drive on safe roadways, in safer vehicles that produce less pollution than they used to....Thank a Liberal.

If you are poor, and had a home built for you and your family, free of charge....Thank a Liberal.

If you are arrested and are provided legal representation even though you cannot pay them....Thank a Liberal.

If you work in an environment free of sexual harassment or threat of unlawful termination....Thank a Liberal.


There are so many more things to thank a Liberal for, but the main one is safeguarding the true American dream; to live and prosper in a secure, enlightened and just society. So for all the Liberals in America who help make this a reality we say: Thank you.

For those who still insist on hating Liberals, remember this: when you curse a Liberal, you curse America.

Jon Stewart thinks so...and he lets his comedic mask slip a bit to reveal the real man and the real feelings about Obama's speech.

Take a couple of minutes to just listen to what he is saying during the Democratic debates.

If only he really meant all the words he speaks here. But, since he is a liar of the nth degree...I guess this is just sadly funny.

The really sad part about this is that even though CNN canceled "Crossfire" and put Tucker Carlson out of a job there, the dick is still on TV thanks to MSNBC. And yes, he is still a dick, still a partisan hack, and still sadly lacking in journalistic integrity or skills. And still wearing that pissant, stupid-looking bow tie. He out-Poindexters Poindexter.

Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, Karl Rove and George W. Bush...they committed treason when they exposed a covert CIA operative's identity to get back at her husband for criticizing them and their disinformation leading up to the Iraq War. Never mind the fact that she was working on PREVENTING Iran's acquisition of nuclear technologies and capabilities (if big words hurt your eyes to read, she was trying to keep Iran from getting an atomic bomb or the stuff to make one)...but why let that get in the way of a nice little war for profit and oil?

Why yes! Childrens DO learn!

As election time draws nearer and recent stories in the news highlight the security (or lack thereof) of the voting machines and process. I thought you might like to take a look at what passes for secure electronic voting in this country.

This is how our President represents us to the rest of the world. This interview for Irish television was banned in the U.S. because Georgie-boy comes off as an arrogant prick. And he still tries to promote the lies of WMD's and Iraq being involved in 9/11. Is it any wonder that our own allies don't believe a word he says?





And in the light of the upcoming report that will state that the Iraqi Government has failed to meet ANY of the benchmarks that were a condition of the Congressional approval for the troop surge strategy back in January, this interview reveals just how arrogant and out-of touch with reality our President really is.

This interview was done in 2005, two years into the war, when things had been steadily growing worse not better, and BEFORE the troop surge was devised as the "new, improved Iraq strategy!" I had almost forgotten what a REAL journalist looks and acts like, considering the pablum we are served up every day on our TV's here in the U.S. Perhaps if OUR journalists had been asking the tough questions and simply DOING THEIR JOBS four years ago, over 3,600 American citizen-soldiers would still be among us today.

And good fortune willing he will be...in 2008 or in 2012!!!

Everyone deserves a chance to pursue happiness. State and federal laws that deny the same rights to ALL American citizens are NOT what this country is all about. It is BIGOTRY...pure and simple.

How long will the American public remain asleep and let this corrupt administration go on killing, maiming, and destroying lives with impunity? History will record that the Bush administration was the WORST in U.S. history. And no amount of revisionist history writing from the Republican Party and their paid-for shills at FOX News and Disney/ABC Entertainment will make George Bush look like anything but the blundering, blithering idiot he is...

The President replaced White House Press Secretary Tony Snow in a stunning surprise move earlier this week. The President said that while Tony Snow did a heckuva job, he personally felt that he needed a man with a more interpretive touch in the job.

and it still rings true today.
