A fanlisting is as it sounds, a list of fans of a particular subject. The ultimate goal is to gather as many fans of that subject in one place, and in doing discover the total number of fans of that subject there are around the world. (Doesn't sound so simple now, does it?) The subject of this fanlisting is Original Characters.

Original Characters, or OCs as they are more commonly known, are simply characters that a fanfiction writer has created and inserted into their fanfiction, where they interact with the canon characters. Some regard most Original Characters as Mary Sues, whilst others use the term Original Character to distinguish non-canon characters from this cliché.
