Brief Wrestling History
Kane trained with the Malenko's in his early wrestling career and entered the USWA as the Christmas Creature. This persona didn't last very long. Glen Jacobs then portrayed Doomsday in 1992 for the USWA and later took this gimmick to the WWC in Puerto Rico. In 1995 Glen Jacobs met up with Jim Cornette in Tennessee. He joined Cornette's Smoky Mountain Wrestling and became Unabomb. Jacobs was paired with Al Snow who was referred to as "Simply Sensational" and together they went after the Tag Team titles. Glen was extremely fortunate in being able to audition for the World Wrestling Federation (Entertainment), however it was Vince McMahon that was very impressed with his size and athletic abilities. He soon joined the WWE as Dr. Isaac Yankem DDS (Jerry Lawler's evil Dentist). Even though this gimmick did not take off, Jacobs had his foot in the door and more opportunities followed.
When Isaac Yankem DDS didn't really pan out Glen Jacobs returned to SMW and once again took on the gimmick of Unabomb. In 1996 Glen Jacobs was offered the part of Diesel as Kevin Nash who had portrayed this gimmick was leaving the WWE. Fans did not accept the "fake Diesel" or "Diesel 2" as they called him and the gimmick came to an end. Over the next year Glen Jacobs wrestled for USWA once more.
Meantime, Paul Bearer, The Undertaker and Vince McMahon were conjuring up what was to be one of the best masked gimmicks in the history of wrestling...KANE! And who were they thinking of that could portray this role perfectly.....Glen Jacobs. Kane has survived for six years now and has risen much higher than anyone could ever have hoped for. In 2003 Kane-anites were shocked when Kane finally removed his mask, however, this removal has taken Kane to even greater heights. His abilities in and out of the ring have been exceptional.
