 SYNESTHETICMUSIC.

a record label... now in transatlanticolour.

welcome to the odyssey

not much can be said about this label - it came from out of nowhere in august 2008, displaying a message - the administrator's promises have been kept. no one can possibly say what these promises are, and whether said promises will transpire in the future. it was founded by kiran and max leonard, but max later left the picture and leonard was left on his own, releasing low-budget experimental albums. for a short period, synestheticmusic had it's own television channel, brickbats, on justin.tv, but they decided to call it quits. they, however, still do podcasts from time to time in the form of DANNY MINTON AND KIRAN LEONARD. in early 2009, the EggMaster came into the picture, and later on came Leo Brookes, a self described "faggot". These registered communists make up the invisible office, a cyberspatial translantic community where everything and nothing is possible.

bands and artists signed to the label include kiran leonard, the sleeper in time/the eggmaster/egg the artist/whatever pseudonym he decides on, one legged ninja disco pigeons, the white buffalo's collision tape & the incision magician, tritet, max leonard, we are edgar smith, the? spoon! (and the), observational situational, sound dunes & turdsledge (apparently).

In the invisible office, there is also faggot's label "Fifth wheel" (link above), and my selection of homegrown shrooms, which make your eyes sink back into your head as phosphenes give you electric shocks of orgasmic joy.

 12/7/2009

It's about bloody time they released the sequel.

Oh yeah, and we found voltalade.

Don't know why I put a picture of Dali there... i guess I was just bored.

11/7/2009

It's been a while since we've had some releases, but Egg (John Wight) has, for the first time in a couple of months, delivered. And when John delivers (as we know) he delivers in bundles.

Today's releases include cold coffeezen, and the final version of cornocopia (SYN031-SYN033)

On Zen, he formally introduces his ALTO SAX. expect zorn/moondogesque shennanigans with absurd percussion and strange effects. Hallejuah, the Eggy One has returned.

Oh yeah, he also released Tecton Voltalade, an album of electronic music, but the download link for that isn't working for me... maybe it's because of megaupload's bitchy limit on what you download in 24 hours. I'll try tomorrow and giver you a link then, K?!

Also, the Invisible Office presents to you... PHOSPHENIC MAGAMAGAMAPLANTS

Oh yeah, and this amusing thing happened on webs a week or so ago -

A few updates -

synestheticmusic regret to announce that we have separated from Sorry Robin, due to musical differences. We wish him all the luck in his noise-making antics, but sadly, we personally don't believe that his music's aesthetic fits in with the label. We respect his experimentalism, philosophy and contemporary work, and congragulate him for not being ushered into the thoughtless majority of Hannah Montana (pbuh) loving assholes.

Plus, my album Selected Passive Drones, Part II: Organic Journey, can now expect a more accurate release date -  I am hoping to finish and release the album by 13th July.

21/6/2009

Two things -

synestheticmusic have signed two new artists - Ghanafolk  and My Cat Drinks Tap Water  (Artist pages coming soon)

They are two very wierd Australian bands, the former making interestingly bizarre ambient music, the other lo-fi dance/math rock music.

We would also like to announce the death of Monkey Dancer.

 Well, not exactly like that.

According to Dennis, when asked about the apparent death, announced on Monkey Dancer's myspace, "He died because I was his tongue and his flute, and he was too afraid to leave his indoctrinated cage of America. So without the extreme circumstances that surrounded him he couldn't survive and disappeared to become one with Su Cejah herself."

...Riiight. So that poses the question, who, or what is Su Cejah?

Su Cejah is a new religion that was founded by the Monkey Dancer, Patricio, Mahrtah and Pao Pao. The first sign of Su Cejah was witnessed hanging down from the ceiling as Su Cejah's eyebrow. The holy time is 08.47 and then it's appreciated to send a thought to Her to honor his greatness. In this ritual you have to cover your eyebrows with your thumbs and dance/sing like monkeys. This create a positive energy that you later will share with the people around you. Holy animal: Monkey (and everything around it like; banana...) Story behind the holy eyebrow: In the late 60's, while Mr. Noble still was hugging trees, he went out in the desert to find out who he really was and to come closer to the higher power. He walked and walked, and finally collapsed on the hot sand. His two thumbs landed on his two eyebrows and when he woke up his eyebrows had grown around his thumbs so that they were stuck. So for the rest of his life he had to walk like that, and to honor him we hold our hands like that while we pray. Why are you scared about the future? Don't be a coconut! God is trying to talk to you!

I always thought i was a pineapple.

In case you didn't get any of that, it basically means that the project Monkey Dancer is over, and he is going back to Sweden to make music with an eccentric band he's been talking about.

May Su Cejah's eyebrow be with him on his travels.

News -

SYN029A, SYN029B, AND SYN030 have been released.

You have Monkey Dancer's two new albums (SYN029), the titles of which are so long I don't think I'm going to type them out, but the full length one is listed below. You can of course find out the name of the EP here and the full length one is stowed by the poopdeck. Don't ask why.

SYN030 is Deucalion's Axes by Galaxy Rainbow, who you will know better as Leo Brookes or Sound Dunes, who has reprised his awesome drone under a new moniker creating a much darker, brooding atmosphere. Expect seriously cool shizzle, the likes of which won't be found here.

But you can try here.

(by the way if you clicked on the link before it, i've probably scarred you for life. sorry.)

Also, I've got a low quality preview of John Wight's new album Cornocopia, which should be coming out in the near future. It's in an interesting classical vein, which could be described as perhaps more approachable. It's like acid moondog on keyboard. Nice.

Hasta luego,

the Invisible Office

gREETINGS CITIZENS

11/5/2009

Dear faithful lovers of synestheticmusic,

A couple of things are really beginning to take shape on the label's front. For a start, it's slowly becoming apparent that synestheticmusic is not neccessarily a label in the traditional sense, rather a community of teenagers taking a stance against the generic pop that rules the teenage market. When you think about it, there aren't many famous teenage musicians with talent or musical creativity, and that is what I hope is what synestheticmusic can take a stance against - my vision is to start a collective of these teenagers and introduce people to something beyond Miley Cyrus, and bring an end to the patronisation and prejudice brought upon teenagers in media.

As I sit here listening to All I Need by Radiohead, it seems to become the perfect backdrop for the kind of things are coming. Leo Brookes is bringing out the first physical release in synestheticmusic history, with a cassette full of wonderful drone music, and I will hopefully later be bringing out Selected Passive Drones Part II: Organic Journey on CD. Sorry Robin seems to be moving on from synestheticmusic to start his own label at some point, which we wish him sincere luck with, and we hope that our paths cross again. We have signed a new swedish fellow, Monkey Dancer, and we are beginning to explore new forms of releasing music, something that synestheticmusic haven't experimented with since the early days of the label. The reason I say Radiohead's All I need is a perfect backdrop because the song provokes movements, crescendoes and change, because change seems to be coming to synestheticmusic. Now, call me a pretentious windbag, but I honestly believe that things are going to become very interesting in the near future.

My album the Sunshine Theory is set for completion soon. The lead single "Barbaraptuous" will premiere on YouTube in a month or so with an accompanying music video directed by myself and Tom Butterworth. Sorry Robin is set to make an appearance at the Canadian noise music festival Discord. Egg is making great progress with Cold Coffee apparently, which we at synestheticmusic are greatly looking forward to, and of course, Leo's cassette releases will surely blow us away.

Something is happening, good people of the invisible office. Wish us look as we explore the physical release industry and I lose a lot of money,

Yours sincerely,
Kiran Leonard

Time of writing: 00:47

The Manta XII releases are coming. Now, as they are a collection of 7 EP's, they will all be released as SYN017,  but categorised even further by letter... i.e SYN017A, SYN017B, SYN017C etc. Plus, there is the triple Dronedog album (SYN018A), followed by  three others (SYN018B-D), and so far... that is the plan.

Time of writing: 01:06

Bizarre cataloging technique permitted by Egg and the first three EPs are cataloged as SYN017A, SYN017B and SYN017C, and placed into the synestheticmusic discography. They are Fistful of Fingers, Solace Sleep and the White Tree, and they can be downloaded here

Time of writing: 01:42

Four more releases are announced and are currently being downloaded. These will be cataloged as SYN017D, SYN017E, SYN017F & SYN017G.

 Time of writing: 01:55

SYN017D, SYN017E & SYN017F are added to the catalog. Their names are "Travelling the World Alone in Happiness._", "Metal Clown" and "Bowler Thief" respectively.

 Time of writing: 02:03

SYN017G is finally added to the catalog. it's name is fusion.

And thus, Manta XII is born.

 Time of writing: 11:08
Woke up about an hour ago after watching Father Ted till three in the morning (FECK!). Logged onto last.fm to see if Eggplant has left me anything, to find the triple album Kaghkabba and two other single albums, "Eternal Clouds Erode Like Ashes" and "Red Blood is Done For Some Time".  Well, they'll have to be added to the catalog then.

 Time of writing: 11:59

The Dronedog of God's Eye's albums are added to the catalog.

12:00.

Hallelujah!

Why, do you know what that is? Why, that is an image. And what is this?
Why, that is a link. Which means that thanks to Google Chrome, synestheticmusic is fully running again. Not much news to report apart from that, really. Oh, but one other thing - that link goes to Observational Situational's debut album.

Oh yeah, that piece of news is kinda important. Hehe, well I thought i'd just let that out with surprise. But it's finally here. Enjoy .

Introducing... our new drone/noise artist Sound Dunes and his debut EP, the cacophony silence.

http://www.archive.org/download/SoundDunes/SoundDunes.rar

On a sadder note, math metal band The? Spoon! (and the) have announced that they will be splitting up in June, as they are a band based in their university, all in their last years. They've been with us for almost a year (hell, check SYN001), so good luck to all of them in various pursuits.

Turdsledge and Observational Situational (two less-heard artists in the synestheticmusic canon), will be releasing material - Turdsledge an EP, Observational Situational a full album, all sometime in this spring.

I myself (Mr. Leonard), would like to formally announce albums 7-10 are underway at the moment, the last scheduled for completion sometime early Summer. Plus, Eggfast is working even faster than myself under various psuedonyms - we'll be expecting some early rare goodies from his "Manta XII" alter-ego.

"Tanya, you were a terrorist..."

23/3/2009

For the love of christ! After almost a week of faulty freewebs, synestheticmusic is back with a new artist, three new releases and another website. Then again, it's not all great - the toolbox doesn't seem to be working at the moment either, which means no images, videos or interesting linkies. Bollocks. Hopefully, it'll pass over in time.

One of the releases is  BeaЯs... Apes... Midnight Sunrise by the Maggots in the Scarecrow's Eyes, which we now have a link for - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?4jjvv1hly9b

The other is from our new artist, Sorry, Robin (an Eggfast find), who specialises in noise (she is also actually synesthetic). Her debut album, Violence Makes Me Horny, is now SYN013. She has an EP too... A.K.A SYN0014

Violence Makes Me Horny -  http://www.rapidspread.com/file.jsp?id=f5z7j1ctta
Busting Some Fucking Heads [EP] - http://www.last.fm/music/Sorry+Robin/Busting+Some+Fucking+Heads

Egg now has his own website to keep track of his growing collection of albums and paintings. If Freewebs decided to be a bitch again, i would check that site just in case there are any egg updates you're missing out on.

http://egglabel.webs.com

But theres more! Sorry, Robin is currently setting up a blog called "Tokyo Harsh Cult", which I will be writing for. Expect lots of noise and experimental music. Peace out, you crazy sons of a bitches.

Ladies and gentlemen, this a dark time.

The last entry, Doom Drone Doom Colours, wasn't by Eggfast, and his account was hacked. And for about 35 minutes, he thought I'd hacked his account, and went on a hating spree. So... for the record everyone, he doesn't hate me anymore, I didn't hack his account, Doom Drone Doom Colours has been removed from the synestheticmusic discography, and I'm thoroughly pissed off at the moment.

Also, I've got a glockenspiel. Shazam.

28/2/2009

Dear syntheticarts, this is Egg.

Here I have info on my new project "Eggfast". I have one album released.... the Last.FM wiki:
Eggfast is an experimental side project of musician Eggplant of the Prog/Avant-Garde band The White Buffalo's Collision Tape & The Incision Magician. Eggfast's sound is hard to describe, but has elements of drone, noise, ambient, metal and electronic, usually all in one piece. Eggfast's debut The Dark Matter was Eggplant's first release on the synthetic_arts label, while The White Buffalo's Collision Tape's upcoming debut is still in progress. Eggplant announced that there will be at least 4 more Eggfast releases coming Summer 2009 on the sythetic_arts website.

Shit, and we still haven't told this guy it isn't called syntheticarts. don't worry, i'll tell him now.

We'd like to call a celebration however. Synestheticmusic just released their tenth album with "The Dark Matter" by Eggfast.

Download it here

 24/2/2009

"POST ON SITE (syntheticarts): "ANOTHER message from the EggMaster..." Album updates: As I have said before, this album is like a bike ride, the direction keeps changing keeps going... and it's going OK. There's going to be A LOT more tracks here than expected... lots of short tracks of weird sound effects between songs, interludes, spoken word stuff, random keyboard/guitar/drum solos, shortmetal riffs, and other crazy insane nonsensical things that are even more insane... yes, I've decided to go ALL OUT with this one and make it a hard listen for the listener, but it's going to be a 'trip' album, not a 'real' album. Anyway, there is going to be a lot of 'Normal' songs (no-messing-around-kinda-shit), plenty of obscurities, small ambient pieces, and short-spokenword-stories (really short)... the album will have all kinds of music on it, seeing where I'm going with this.. anyone who has been waiting eagerly for it (yeah right) will probably not get what is expected... don't be dissapointed, all of TWBCT&TIC's albums will be quite different and we'll hopefully make some prog masterpeices sometime. This is just our "breaking into the world of music" and we're gonna give it all we got, with sheer force of many things... obscurity, for one,
craziness, insanity, chaos, peace, softness, and vast worlds. That is a description of the album... and also don't expect anyhing because I'm not a great musician and we are only 14 year olds in the 8th grade... hah.

perhaps with the amounts of albums the eggmaster keeps bringing up (Our incredibly inventive American counterpart), you might be confused as to what album this guy is actually talking about. So take me make it clear... that update is about "Sparks Fly..." by the White Buffalo's Collision Tape & The Incision Magician. I wish him luck... as for me, I've got writer's block... luckily, I've got three albums of material lying around waiting to be recorded, so I'm good for a couple of years.

23/2/2009

"Another Message from the EggMaster..." Here is some planned/upcoming/work-in-progress/current projects of mine:

Album: Shroud...(s) by ..."The Sleeper In Time"... Status: planned...
This is going to be a concept ambient/industrial/trance album EXTREMELY inspired by (two) groups (same 2 people) called The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu/The KLF. (PLEASE DO go to wikipedia.com and read all about their history) First of all, they loved to go on journeys and they loved eternity. So they made an album called "Chill Out" under the KLF. It is an sample-heavy ambient house album that "portrays a mythical night-time journey up the U.S. Gulf Coast from Texas into Louisiana." The whole album is a masterpiece as is it's counterpart "Space", by space (a KLF side project that is a journey through space.)........... Now THIS album will be very similar and is also heavily inspired by Death Cube K (look it up, buckethead side project) and Atrium Carceri. The whole album is a journey through a world where no one lives, a world of silence, echoes, desolation, isolation, eternity, ancient, a world full of religion, idols, temples, old catacombs, deserts, old Mexican cities (with houses of clay), a world where there's not even ghosts of men, you feel no spirits, you see dead skeletons, but you DO feel like your being watched as you travel through the desolate city. This is the work that is MOST important to me and I believe will be my 'magnum opus'. Other strong influences for this work: The art of Salvador Dali and Jeff Jordan. Stars Of The Lid, Buckethead's in search of inbred mountain (album), the Music of the Mars Volta, the works of Edgar Allen Poe, J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft, the film "the Hills Have Eyes", Def Leppard's song "Paper Sun", the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine as created by Stephen King and his story "the Library Policeman"... and the Band ANTARCTICA (VOLTA1995 CHECK THIS BAND OUT NOW!!!!!!!) that is about as much as I can explain about the album. And it will be LONG... like 13 cds.

Album: Time & Eternity, The Universe & The Abyss... (And Nothingness) by ..."Sleeper In Time"...
Status: Planned
This is similar to the above album by has much more influence of psychedelic rock, post-rock, but still ambient music in general. the album "Space" (above), H.p. Lovecraft's work, Poe's Eureka, Eternity, The KLF, Natural Snow Buildings, and many ambient/post-rock artists influence this work, oh and the Flaming Lips... lol. Anyway, it is a concept album that is a trip through... (what it says in the title of the album) and is neverending... (eternity). It will be able to be played endlessly on shuffle and will be an album you can do the following things with: sleep to, trip to, close your eyes and relax to, dream to, die to (truly), paint while listening to, expirement with, and a whole bunch of other things.. It will have A LOT of songs, for the shuffling experience to be AWESOME and mixing the songs together will make certain effects... it will be VERY expiremental and there will be more stuff for it, like playing it backwards, playing an instrument with, mixing other music with it... another one of my 'important' albums.

CURRENT PROJECT: "Sparks fly..." by The White Buffalos'... ah, screw it.
OK, this one is kind of 'infamous' to ME because it's my debut, it's chaotic, insane, crazy, and generally messed up. Lot's of inspiration from Zappa's debut "Freak Out!" with the Mothers and the Resident's "Meet the Residents" here. Now this is one monolith of an album. It will break as many musical rules as possible and will not generally be well recieved. That's how i want it. That's how it will be, and that's how it is. DOn't fuss, the good stuff will come later, ok? So be patient! I'm too crazy and expiremental for my own good, I have to put everything I can possibly think of into one album! I can't just hold onto one idea for this one! It might be a failure (too big to take off...) like Pete Townshend's Lifehouse Project. But this is only an album and no matter how freaked out and terrible it comes out... it WILL be released, and that to me is not a failure. That is success. It will only be one disc though... yay!

Current Project 2: Serenades of Silence by .................. (maybe Buffalo??) In progress, but not too much, it is simply an album of soft, peacful music (post-rock, acoustic, electronic, ambient) that just gets a bit more chaotic with each song and at the end... .KAZAAAAAM! CHAOS!!!! You get it?? It'll be fun though. Greatly inspired by classical music, ambient music (Stars of the lid) folk music, postrock, electronic music and Buckethead's albums COLMA and ELECTRIC TEARS.

Other projects: The World Inside My Eternal Mind... (by Egg the Artist)
A collection of songs based upon certain paintings i painted (side 1) and a collection of songs paintings are based off... (the paintings will come wiht the album somehow! look at the paintings while you listen...) There will be other collections like this!

18/2/2009

POST ON SITE (syntheticarts), edit where needed--------- "A Message From The EggMaster..." Album updates: I have keyboards now (sick!!!)... I'm using bongos (lol, but true), using electric + acoustic guitars + effect pedal(s), I have (1) of those things that is a circle and has the little cymbal/bell things round it (WHAT IS IT CALLED??? I forgot!!!) and a bunch of other weird stuff. I'm currently creating an instrument that I WILL use in the album... it'll be crazy!!! I have made an album cover: It is an eyeball in the center with a blue background and a bunch of stuff around it... hard to explain, but I feel it HAS to be the cover. This album has certain influences that might show or might not: Buckethead, Frank Zappa, Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez (+The Mars Volta), The Residents, King Crimson and Miles Davis, buckethead being the main influence (Hope you don't mind) and Miles being the last (but not least). The album will have about 5 "normal" songs, and 5 "weird" songs including: Intro (prelude, prologue, whatever), Interlude, Radio: A Look Into Communication (a weird spoken-word radio thing with sound effects), Epilogue, and Praxinator (Demo Version) [Bonus Track]... now this 'demo' of the second song 'Praxinator' is not really a demo OR a bonus track, but a distorted, crazy, early version of the song, with weird time signatures, fuck-up parts, sound effects, noise and other weird stuff... I was experimenting with this one. You might call it a 'mash-up'.

 5/2/2009

the word "Idiot" is tossed around these days, but let's call this a fair example.

25/1/2009

i have released advertisement

it's called advertisement cause i'm going to advertise it.

27/12/2008

well what you do know? no updates in the past month, and then two come in as many days.

anyway, i've come to announce an official press release from Plant, the head of  The White Buffalo's Collision Tape & The Incision Magician... (i have to keep copying and pasting their incredibly long name from thePlantVolta's last.fm page).

------------------------

OK, so I thought that now I'm signed onto sytheticmusic I should give you some updates on how the album is going. Here are the pros and cons: Cons: 1. We currently have no drums, we'll have to borrow a set. We currently have no keyboards (as intended) so we might try to do the album without them. 2. My electric guitar is missing 2 strings, and I have no strings nearby, so I'll have to wait a little while. 3. One of us is in Conneticut for Christmas so we're going to have to wait for him to come back. 4. No bass player yet, our last one left, so... yeah. 5. We can't get together too much lately, so I'm having to record a lot of my stuff by myself which is kind of a pain, but it still works. 6. We don't have any great recording equipment, so it's going to sound lo-fi or whatever. Not good quality, but hey, this is mostly for fun!

Pros: 1. I am currently working and recording with my acoustic guitar. 2. We have 3 flutes, 2 harmonicas, 2 acoustic guitars, 1 electric guitar, 1 hi-hat (LOL!!), 1 effect pedal, 1 amp, 1 whammy bar, a bunch of weird trinkets we could use for instruments???, and 1 acoustic guitar with only two strings... but we're working with EVERYTHING we have! We use what we got! It's a good thing though, because we'll add drums later and (hopefully) the keyboards. I know I mentioned this will be a pure 'prog rock album' but I imagine it will be more of A Silver Mt. Zion-esque 'Progressive post-folk-rock' album (a term I coined). 3. We are using the detuned electric guitar (with 3 strings) with the effect pedal to create an orchestral violin type effect. It sounds neat, and we are using the guitar as a sort of backing instrument that keeps everything together. I bet this is going to be a very 'unique' album...

anyways... we're not in a very recording friendly enviorment, but we're goin to do the best we can. And I don't have that good recording software so it's going to be hard to mix... oh well... it's gonna need some work, and its not like I have the whole thing set up and we can just say, "Ok, let's record track 3 now" Sit down and say "take 1"... and so on. We're basically working on the album on the way, like, we'll do a bunch of improv and stuff, and we'll change the stuff I've written around a lot.

We already changed one track "The Winterblast Bolts" from a keyboard-driven pop tune to a folky acoustic song. Strange? Well, I like to do things differently.. I'm kind of the leader, but I don't want to be. I try to get everybody to work together as a BAND. There will be some post-metal, doom metal or sludge type tracks on here, is that cool? Wow, originally I had one sound in mind for the album, (think, Quadrophenia, the whole album has a neat sound that makes the whole album feel like one piece) but now there's all kinds of music and expirimentation on it.

The spoken-word track I spoke of MIGHT be omitted. There will be one song that's at least 10:00 minutes... I know that because I have a certain idea that takes that long to start and then finish up, you know, it can't just last to minutes, or the idea wont even shape... that's it so far... and I'm usually working on the album by myself or just 1 or two people. The highest that have been together since we started the project was 4 people, and there's 7 people in the band... but it's because it is christmas break.

Oh, another con: I'm not a great guitar player, harmonicist, flute player and neither is anyone else here, so, yeah... I mean, I'm still taking my 2nd year of lessons... but I'm good enough to make my own music with the stuff I know. I'm just telling you, don't expect a one-hit wonder or anything. (MAYBE BY THE SECOND MONTH OF 2009 WE'LL BE BETTER! AND THE ALBUM WILL JUST DEVOLOPE and we'll keep changing stuff an`1d by the end it will be greater.)

-----------

The White.... ah, fuck it, I'm sick of typing that ridiculously long name, for know they're called the White Buffalo...,  are also releasing a 5-disc ambient album known as Serenades of Silence {Stanzas I-X} sometime around 2010-2011. I guess the future looks.... cool. and ambient!

26/12/2008

 well it's about fucking time.

http://www.last.fm/music/Tritet/tritet

i would also like to formally announce the release of my own malagambient ( http://www.last.fm/music/Kiran+Leonard/malagambient ), with an incredible album cover modelled by duracell boy. synestheticarts have a new artist - the american prog rock/experimental band The White Buffalo's Collision Tape & The Incision Magician... but what the hell, temple mount has no time for details. go onto the artists and discography page for the fine print.

turdsledge and observational situational are hopefully releasing an EP and album respectively next january to make SYN009 and SYN010, and I have two other releases lined up for future... release.

Welcome to our society

Vendetta is priority

You can corner off all the world's fears

And want to screw a girl to tears

And even through sarcastic jeers

And that the girl is really wierd

And you promised that you'd go and see her

And all the gals just want to be her

You can hope all you want, and pray to God

You can kneel down like a useless sod

You can kiss and go straight out to play

But you'll lose her next week, any way

You can take chit-chat in tiny goes

And you can jump for joy, have high for lows

Fall out, make up and go to town

You can laugh, smile, gasp, cry, scream and frown

And you can buy her a beautiful velvet gown

You can say downs are ups and ups are down

And you can take a drug and say it's great

And stay with your illusion way up late

And talk about the future

That is if you don't shoot her

Or you step slightly out of line

Or moan or groan or whine

Happiness in sex

Is probably the best

But it's bad for your health

You can take some pills, you can lie to yourself

And girlfriends can love their boyfriends

But the boys want a girlie finer

They don't give a damn about small talk

Just to gaze at your vagina

You can buy them rings and stuff

And reassure that you are theirs

But girls are dumb as boys

I guess that's just the point of pairs

The sorry holes cry out with glee

And tell the kids "Don't fuck with me!"

They stay up all night and get real pissed

A collective of some messed-up kids

Who beat the guys who cut their wrists

Personally, I wouldn't know if they even exist

Do they just come out at night?

To beat the crap out of some sorry asshole who enjoys the Wagnerian rock of Elliot Minor listening to it on his black iPod that they're probably about to steal anyway?

They use stupid insults that are, like totally gay

I hope you get the iron-ay

They're stereotypical dweebs

That stay up smoking weed

Predictability

Sucks a lot more when you see

That all the people that you know

That are just part of this big system

They will fuck and suck and blow

And you'll really want to hit them

Emos wear black, chavs wear white

Moshers somewhere in between

Normans don't exist

Its just a label, just a ling'rin shit

I don't know how society

Came up with such crap

You know the people in Australia

Are laughing behind your back

We are stupid, melodramatic

And your idols and your saviours

Come in many different flavours

Arm the lovers with the tasers

And you can raise a little shite

To an unprecedented height

And then overnight

And in a beam of shocking light

Another one's come down

And you will cheer and we will frown

And you will buy these awesome shoes

that you saw Felicity wear in town

The stereotypes we love to hate

Their clothes all suck, their voices grate

Am I too modest? Do I have an ego?

Am I too shy or do I have libido?

Am I depressive or too optimistic?

Am I spontaneous or too logistic?

Am I too funny or too serious

Too down to earth or too delirious

But don't bother there's nothing much to say

I've forgotten who I'm impressing anyway

I'd like to conclude

In a neutral mannerism

But it's hard to make a statement

Without upsetting a part of the system

The chavs take offence to their stereotype

But they're mostly total turds

And they've never heard of Shakespeare

And use violence and not words

Nerds are cool, and Normans are wierd

And the emos don't slit their wrists

All moshers hate Trivium

Shall I continue with my list

I could shout about the pikeys

And they'd never hear this song

They'd ask me "are you a mosher or what?"

And I'd say "I don't know where I belong"

They say I'm emo because of my taste

And that I'm mosher cause of my hair

But I don't have a cliche attitude

Or stereotypical wear

I say if society is judged

On a stupid social class

And you can proclaim that you're an emo

But let's be honest, who really asked?

People can be people

They can be paupers or the queen

And I hope you enjoyed the ceremony

Didn't take breaks in between

Cause this is it, right in the blue

This is Monologue 13

And I hope you didn't despite it

Cause your shoes are squeaky clean

And you take a loud offence to

Anything or any being

Who's anti-this and anti-everything

But don't treat me like a fiend

This is an opinionated diary

Of the things that I have seen

Along with a million other people

From the anxious to the keen

The fascists and the liberals

The left right and in between

The ignoramus and the genius

The rugby star and the weed

And if I'm the only one who can say

Poetically, then so be

Cause there's right, there's wrong

There's dance and there's song

There's crack, there's bong

There's short and there's long

But there's nothing quite confusing

As being in between

 8/11/2008

wow, it's almost been a month since my last update, but there wasn't much to tell. GUN is out by myself on last.fm (go to the discography page to download it), and two other albums are currently in the works - tritet's long-delayed ep (or as i like to call it, synesthetic democracy) and malagambient, another album by mine. if you've noticed, the halloween film festival did not happen and i apologise for it, but my computer simply isn't up to it. i'm afraid brickbats has also shut down, along with my radio show due to technical problems and the simple fact that i can't be arsed to spend 2 hours setting up a radio show 4 people listen to. but all is not lost! i do podcasts instead - there's time to edit them, and they're a billion times quicker and much more fun to do. episode 1 is 2 hours of wierd music and a hilarious jam in the middle. check.

also, column b never came - the quality of track 1 was still wrong, so baden baden is only available on soundclick at the moment.

 5/10/2008

we are vow-breaking assholes, more like.

we are edgar smith's debut, baden baden: the city so good, they named it twice was released on SOUNDCLICK yesterday. i know, we said that soundclick and vuze are shit, we'll never use them again, etc, but we didn't keep our vow and came back to soundclick. (Sighs). well, it turns out track 1 from baden baden, was created at a quality too low for last.fm, so there are separate releases for baden baden - one is for soundclick, with all 12 original tracks, and the other is for last.fm, which compresses the 12 short tracks into 2 8-9 minute tracks, which i guess is what god intended, but on the other hand if the world worked that way, god would have also intended tsunamis. so, you choose either fromcolumn a or column b. the last.fm version will be uploaded tomorrow. from there, i'll give you the link.

1/10/2008

it's october, ladies and gentlemen! do you know what that means!

we haven't had a picture in a while...

special thanks to james banister, ned grady and alex napier for contributing to the entire thing... and watch it! brickbats needs yr help!

28/9/2008

 nayagoshi split up on friday.

we are also now synestheticarts - we're beginning to dabble in musical distribution, a musical collective, film and maybe journalism sometime in the near future, all of which will be hosted on this site.

20/9/2008

synestheticmusic on air...

brickbats is part of the anti-corporation corporation, and ran by myself and long time friend & avid gamer James Banister. I do the music, he does the games. It's very fun. we broadcast on justin.tv, and it's not a youtube channel where all the videos are saved - all of it is a live broadcast.

come and visit us. remember that we're not always broadcasting.

OUR SCHEDULE:
9:00-10:00 The Nova Show
10:00-11:00 BRICKBATSMOOSIX
11:00-around 2:00 lol atm

 17/9/2008

my new album, untitled.ground, was released a few days ago. i turned 13 a while back (i get to be idle now), so i didn't update the site (apologies). download por favor

due to conflicts with the co-art director for theresa, the album has been taken down from last.fm. it will be re-uploaded tomorrow for any interested in purchasing, with NEW artwork as due to last.fm's annoying and unpredictable lags, it wouldn't let me change the artwork for theresa. and now i've removed the damn thing (which took about 2-3 hours to upload), it works. DEMOKRATIKK BASTURDS!!!1

10/9/2008

ARE WE DEAD YET?

9/9/2008

synestheticmusic has stopped distributing via vuze and soundclick.

when I have the time, I will slowly one by one remove all the files on Vuze, because it is an annoying waste of time to distribute on. the antibeat and the? spoon! (and the) pages will remain on soundclick, but will not be updated.

in it's place, we have last.fm. and i've finally started using my real fucking name on it.

31/08/2008

 CONTROVERSY?

28/08/2008

well, where are you coming from?
..well...i don't like the way the country's ran, don't you know, and, erm...that's pretty much what i was expressing in my poem. the government...the american government - they're sneaky, they're very deceitful, they're liers, they're cheats, they're rip-offs. i mean, the american government is one systematic government that...that nobody can trust. i don't trust them myself.

and how long have you been writing for?
huh?

how long have you been writing for?
since i was four.

d'you do this sort of thing a lot, like, open-mic kinda questions?
oh i love open-mics, i love coming here to do open-mics, absolutely.

what kind of reactions d'you usually get?
usually, people are...are pretty much in agreement with what i'm saying.

we overheard you before talking about...you went to court today for a speeding ticket...?
that's accurate.

right. d'you wanna tell us that story?
yes, absolutely, i wouldn't mind telling you the story. erm...i went to court today for a speeding ticket, and i told the judge, erm..."let me tell you something, and you listen and you listen good, i'm only gonna say this one time and one time only, i don't repeat myself for nobody," i said. i says..."i'm here to pay a speeding ticket, not to listen to your lectures and hear you run your mouth for an hour." i says "i'm here to pay off my speeding ticket...and i'm here to get my fines out of the way and get the fuck to work." the judge says "you can't talk like that in my courtroom, you're in contempt of court." then i said...i told the judge, "if that's the best you can do, i feel sorry for you." i said "why don't you just shut your fucking mouth for once and listen." i said "i'm not gonna take any shit." i said "i'm gonna pay my speeding ticket like i said." i walked up to the god damn judge and i hand him my 25 dollars and i says "here's my money, now i am leaving."
and i left it at that...
...then, before i left, i turned around and told the judge "i'm here to state who i am and be honest with you." i said "if they thought i was dangerous on the road like you're trying to accuse me of, wouldn't they have taken my license when i first got it? yes they would. and the judge says "yeah, you have a point," he goes "you don't need to get loud," i said "don't get loud?" i says "i've got every right to get loud." i says "you can't do a god damn thing about it, because i'm expressing myself in your court, and there is nothing you can do about it. you think you're god because you have a robe and you can put people up the god damn river for 20 years? well you're not."
and i left it at that...

did you walk away?
yes i did...i don't like the judicial system, i don't like the government system, i don't like the police, i don't like anything to do with this country's government. i just don't like it, because...they're sneaky, like i said - they're deceitful, they're lying, they're cheats, the rip people off. that's the american government for you. america is a third world country, and people don't recognise it...and i think that that's pretty god damn sad, that they don't recognise their own country as a third world, third rate, third class slum.

well...d'you have any weapons?
yes, i do. i own a high-powered assault rifle, i own a 12-gauge double barrel shotgun, i own a regular shotgun, i own a regular hunting rifle, i own a 9 milimetre, a 357, a 45 handgun, a 38 special, and, erm...i own an m-16 fully automatic ground assault rifle...

d'you think things are gonna get better before they get worse?
no way. things are just gonna get worse and keep on getting worse. like i said, america's a third world country as it is and...and we're just basically in a hopeless situation as it stands.

what d'you think this country's gonna look like in the year 2003?
y'know, i'll tell you the truth - nothing against you guys, but i don't wanna answer that question because...i haven't even got a mind that's that...that inhumane.

are you ready for what's coming?
ready as i'll ever be.

most people aren't.
there's a little saying...dates back for generations...

go on...

be prepared for anything at any time from anybody, don't take no shit, always stand your ground. people wanna come up to me and run their mouth - guess what? i'll throw them through the fucking window...i won't think a thing of it.

would you mind reciting your poem for us?
not at all, i don't see why...i don't see why i couldn't.

there's an evil virus that's threatening mankind
it's not state of the art, it's a serious state of the mind
the muggers, the backstabbers, the two faced elite
a menace to society, a social disease
to brainwash the mind is a social disorder
the cynics, the apathy one-upmanship order
watching beginnings of social decay
gloating and sneering at life's disarray
eating away at your own self esteem
pouncing on every word that you might be saying
to attack someones mind is a social disorder
the constitution, the government, martial law order
superficially smiling a shake of the hand
as soon as your back is turned treason is planned
when every good thing's laid to rest
by the governments hate, by the constitution and their lies
and every time you think you're safe
and when you go to turn away
you know they're sharpening all their knives
all in your mind
all in your head
try to relate it
all in your mind
all in your head
try to escape it
without a conscience they destroy
and that's a thing that they enjoy
they're a sickness that's in all of our minds
they want to sink the ship and leave
the way they laugh at you and me
you know it happens all the time
but it only happens in your mind
the rats in the cellar you know who you are...
or do you?
watching beginnings of social decay...

thank you for your time

27/08/2008

we're officially sellouts!

25/08/2008

the synestheticmusic franchise is growing - both theresa and 30 day fire are now downloadable by soundclick (http://www.soundclick.com/), which allows you to download music without downloading any attachments. unfortunately, you'll have to download the tracks separately and it's mp3 form only, but this is just for those struggling with vuze or microsoft groove.

although there's been a heavy rush with releasing 2 albums and a single in the space of 5 days, it's kind of quieting down now - except the next release in a few months or so. i'll update the site every so often (you may have also noticed that my updates are becoming less frequent), and still continue to look for new, better sites like soundclick.

20/8/08

Apologies for the tomfoolery - the theresa file refuses to be uploaded by vuze, so now, only the .zip file will be hosted on microsoft groove (for info on that see discography page)

 17/8/08

It's quarter past one in the morning, and I've been casually flicking through last.fm, but I've also been working on something else, something far more grand and meaningful for the synesthetic music community (which at the moment, is pretty damn small).

There has been an alteration in the synesthetic music cycle.

Synesthetic music records can now be downloadable via the amazing Microsoft Groove.

For those of you who don't know, Microsoft Groove is a new part to the Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 (a hasty 600 dollars), which is like a peer-to-peer programme which can prove very useful for businesses et cetera. If you have Microsoft Groove (unlikely but possible), then send your e-mail to moi at jaiguru@live.com, and you can be hooked up to Microsoft Groove (if you have problems downloading Vuze, which the synesthetic music lab rats did when experimenting with the links to see if they worked).

If you don't have 600 dollars or 300 pounds (few of us do to spend on something like Microsoft Office), you can download a 30 day trial of Microsoft Groove here . Alternatively, you can look around on Vuze, the Pirate Bay, uTorrent, or even LimeWire, for Microsoft Groove separately or the entire Microsoft Office Ultimate (do you really think a guy with 50 billion dollars is gonna miss the 300 quid he missed from that certain teenager downloading one copy of Microsoft Office Ultimate in some room far away from his luxurious home on... the moon?)

Also, a new band has been signed to synestheticmusic - the newly formed We are Edgar Smith is a collective centred around myself and Ned Grady, who specialise in creating sound collages, taken from old political speeches, odd sound effects created from various objects in my room, and synthesisers used in a bizarre manner.

3 days.

16/8/08

So, after a busy day, 30 Day Fire is up.

The music video for Tanya's Song is now on YouTube -

 - and theresa by myself is up on vuze in 4 days!

(also, the lab rats at synesthetic music are experimenting to see if the microsoft office 2007 programme groove will be able to put up albums... this is for those having trouble downloading vuze. watch this space)

15/8/08

THE DAWN OF THE 30 DAY FIRE (and the) IS HERE

 (...and here)

(...and 1/6 of it here, in .flv form)

ALTHOUGH ALL SONGS FROM 30 DAY FIRE ARE UP ON MUXTAPE (AND WILL BE SO FOR 30 DAYS, AS MENTIONED IN MY PREVIOUS ENTRY), OTHER SONGS FROM SYNESTHETIC MUSIC ARE THERE TOO, SUCH AS PORKING RICK BY OBSERVATIONAL SITUATIONAL OR invisible tape BY antibeat. THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE ALBUM. ONLY THE TRACKS BY THE? SPOON! (AND THE) ARE.

also released today is shibuya, the single from the forthcoming album theresa by myself under the pseudonym of antibeat. you can download it here. the album theresa is released in mp3 format in 5 days.

14/8/08 (later)

Well, tomorrow, the .mp3 version of 30 Day Fire by the? Spoon! (and the) shall be released. I've also made a decision that all full length albums will be released in .mp3 form ONLY, as not everybody can listen to songs in .m4a format. if you want a record or even a sole song in .m4a or even .wav format, i'm afraid from now on it's special request only. sorry.

I've also discovered that some people are having trouble with downloading Vuze (the software you NEED to download our records), so in honour of it's title, the entirety of 30 Day Fire will be on our muxtape site for 30 days starting tomorrow, so those who are either have a crappy computer or are too stupid to be able to download Vuze, it's there to listen to, but NOT to download (if you don't know what muxtape is, see my entry earlier today at the bottom).

also being released tomorrow is shibuya by myself (under the pseudonym of antibeat), the sole single from theresa, which will be released in it's normal edition on the 20th (in .mp3 form, of course). so, enjoy the releases.

14/8/08

we're on youtube

and muxtape

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW.... muxtape is a new site that lets users upload their own personal mixtapes to the internet to share with other people. As you can't physically download them, it's perfectly legal too, so really, it's an awesome invention.

13/8/08

synesthetic music is here, as it is it's first release.

it is here

mp3 release august 15th
