Hi, and welcome to Gpigs.com, the site for guinea pig lovers. But wait a minute, guinea pigs aren't just cute little fluff balls, they are living animals that require some (if not a lot) of work. If you are looking to get a guinea pig (or as we will be calling them gpigs), if you already have one and need some help, then check out our care pages. If you would like your guinea pig to appear in our photo album, then send in a picture to sydwh@aol.com.
On May 3, at around five in the morning, I discovered a horrible thing. My precious little piggy, Midnight (shes in the picture on the left), had died. I noticed the night before that she wasn't doing so well and she was having trouble breathing. I held her for a long time and then put her back in her cage so she could be with her sister. I had a feeling her time was coming (Midnight had been suffering from a tumor located on her left lung) and I cuddled her and said good bye. That night her sister (Chocolate Fudge) must have noticed it too, because she went to sleep next to her little sister, as if protecting her like she always had. The two were very close. When I found Midnight in the morning, I was devastated, but not very surprised. Like I said, I had that feeling, the horrible feeling that something wasn't right. I am planning to cremate her and save her ashes. I am somewhat relieved that she is gone, for now she doesn't have to suffer and she is in a better place. Midnight, I will always miss you and your sweet personality. You will always be in my heart.
Love,
Mommy
