BUNNINGS FUNDRAISING BBQ

Saturday 31st October 2009
9.00am - 4.00pm
Bunnings Warehouse, Caringbah/Taren Point
The Bunnings BBQ at Taren Point, went smoothly on Saturday and although we noticed a drop in customers since the new Bunnings Kirrawee store opened we still managed to raise over $890.00!!
A MASSIVE thank you to Phil who cooked all the snags on the BBQ, to Beth who ordered and cut up all of the snags as well as preparing the sandwiches for the hungry customers. Big thanks also to David H for being our wonderful cashier and also to Jane and Amber for their enthusiastic help throughout the day.
Melissa Pearson
Fundraising Coordinator

Thank you very much to everyone who helped with the BBQ. All your hard work is much appreciated. $890 covers the cost for us to rescue 42 pets from Death Row (cost of a micro-chip) so in context, you can see how important your fundraising efforts are to our animals.
Thank you again to Melissa, our hardworking Fundraising Co-ordinator and the BBQ team! You're all fantastic!

Big wet sloppy kisses, and purrs and head butts from our furry foster family xoxox
and Kind regards

RICHMOND COLLEGE OF TAFE SPRING OPEN DAY

The whole college was open for its 4th Annual Spring Open Day. Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption had a stall set up in the Animal Care Section where we had lot of people coming to find out about volunteering and the rescue work we do. We sold several raffle tickets, entries into the Kibble Guessing Competition as well as some pens and photo frames that were very kindly donated to the charity.
A big thank you to David and Melissa for travelling out to Richmond and for minding the stall.

Sunday 30 August 2009
We had a great day today at The Dogs Big Day Out in Frenchs Forest.

We had lots of people coming up to the stall to have a chat and pick up a flyer or brochure, but most of all the Doggie Cupcakes sold like hot cakes!! A HUGE thank you to Anita Chan for baking all the cupcakes and for coming up with the great idea. The delish flavours such as Carrot and Peanut Butter, Sardine, Broccoli and Beef and Broccoli and Chicken with mashed potato icing all went down a treat and we sold out by 1pm!!!
We also sold lots of raffle tickets and a few people took a guess at the Kibble guessing competition.
We made $309.00 from the cupcakes sales, raffle, kibble comp and donations.  Our donation bin was also full by the end of the day with heaps of Beniful Dog Food which the Purina tent was giving out. So lots of doggie food for the future foster doggies!

Thank you also to David and Nicky for their help throughout the day. The day couldn’t have been a success without all of your help and support!!

Cheers

Fund-raiser BBQ
Saturday 3 January 2009  from 9am - 3pm
at Bunnings Warehouse 71 Reserve Road, Artarmon

On Saturday 3rd January 2009 the Bunnings Fundraising BBQ went ahead at the Artarmon Warehouse and what a success it was!! We raised over $1200.00!!  This is a fantastic result, with the money going towards little Thomas the kitten's recent specialist vet treatment.

On Christmas Eve Thomas was raced to the hospital after he became very ill. He has been receiving specialist care at the Animal Referral Hospital, South Strathfield. After many tests it was revealed that he had a seriously bad side effect from a drug which he had previously been treated with, for a non serious condition. His treatment costs have reached $2,450.00. We know this is a lot of money, but we can't turn our backs on Thomas as he is trying so hard and the indications are that he is improving. You can read all about Thomas's journey here http://www.freewebs.com/sydneypetrescueandadoption/petsneedingurgenthelp.htm

A massive THANK YOU to David Halliburton, Marie Crilley, Jane Klinker, Grae Edwards, Jannette Wells, Sue Smith, Kasia Manton and Michelle & Erich Alber for giving up their time to help at the BBQ. Without their teamwork and support the BBQ could not have gone ahead!! Big Purrs from Thomas!!

Cruelty Free Living Festival

Sunday 2 November 2008 Belmore Park, Haymarket.

The day was highly successful. Our stall generated lots of interest and many volunteer forms and foster carer forms were handed out completed. Jet and Angel (Jenna's Pups) came down for a visit too and stayed at the stall for a while for people to meet them.
We ran a raffle for a Vegan Hamper which proved popular, selling tickets for a gold coin donation. The raffle was won by Grant Davis from Sutherland.
Special thanks to Sydney's Wildflower Nursery who kindly gave us some beautiful plants to decorate our stand. They were really bright and looked great.

A big thank you to Melissa for the organising. Thanks to Maria and David who manned the stall with Melissa and to all who helped.

TNT World Animal Day
10th October 2008

A big thank you to all the staff at TNT Chullora Depot for showing their support towards Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption.

TNT put on a gold coin donation vegetarian breakfast that was delicious plus they ran a raffle to help raise funds for the rescued pets.
All the staff contributed with a donation of pet food. Look how full the table was! We were thrilled with the support and compassion shown.

Little pups Bailey and Bosco made a star appearance and lapped up all the attention.

Over $450.00 was raised for the charity, which has come in very handy for the emergency vet care needed for little kitten Bree.

From all the rescued pets at Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption -

Thank you TNT Chullora!!!
