BANJO black Labrador Kelpie X -great with children

Banjo has had a string of unfortunate bad luck and found himself on Death Row yet again.
Banjo thought he had found his furever home, but unfortunately he was let down by the ones he thought were going to love him forever.  After some fantastic team work from our dedicated volunteers we have rescued Banjo yet again. He is now safe and sound in temporary foster care.

Banjo is a beautiful gentle dog with a kind face and is terrific with children. He obeys well to some commands such as sit, stay, outside and no,  but will benefit from further training. He is a very active dog and will need plenty of exercise and walks, he LOVES going to the beach. He would be an ideal companion to another dog or with an owner who is at home most of the day to keep him company so he does not become bored.
He is house trained and has a beautiful nature. When he was with his first foster carer he was learning to fetch the ball etc...He didn't snatch food from hands and was great with his first foster carers son who is 5yrs (see photo above). When he had enough he just walked away...  Banjo rarely barked and was a quiet dog once he had settled in..
He will need very sturdy minimum 6ft high fences to keep him safely contained.

Banjos foster carer says
"He is in good condition with a very good appetite and is full of energy.  He enjoys lying in the sun and pottering around the backyard. He went for a run and swim at the beach and loved it. Banjo came and sat on the lounge with me and we curled up and watched some TV. Banjo is such a lovely friendly fella and is loving being in a home with love and care. I am very happy to report he is a wonderful kind loving dog who wouldn't hurt a fly."

July'09 Banjo's adoption is pending to Mitchell

A lovely pair of loyal friends who need a home to call their own, Merlin and Grace would add such joy to any home, they are ready-made. We believe they became inseparable 5 or so years ago, we are also trying very hard to honour their relationship and keep them together for the remainder of their lives.
We understand that this seems like an odd combination and maybe seems too ominous to take on, so we ask you to try and look at in this way, the way we see it. Merlin is very well trained, he obeys up to 10 commands diligently and is a very easy dog to manage because of this, and because he is a very loving boy in general. He is very keen to please his owner and does not step a foot out of line when this trust is established. He can be a little prone to”Rotti-talk”, a low grumble witch scares those who things it’s a growl, so a confident experienced owner is a must for these two.
In general he is affectionate, responsive, and intelligent in the right environment. He is very protective (not aggressive, a nature of his breed). Grace is a very loving, affectionate little girl (except with small children due previous history of abuse) who looks to her big brother for security and comfort. She loves a cuddle and enjoys her daily walks were she enjoys rolling happily in the grass at every opportunity. When is quiet in the afternoons Grace settles on top of Merlins ample body resembling a mouse resting on a big black mountain.
Merlin is her security and he is her constant companion. Merlin is very senior for his breed and will need only a daily walk + a medium sized living area. Grace is fairly active but is also content with a daily walk, and same living area (obviously), they would like to have access to indoors but would be content living mostly outdoors as having been used to this in the past. If you are thinking about adopting a canine who is loyal, sociable and fairly self- contained (as they are great company for each other) they are not overly demanding of time/ attention.
Please consider Merlin and Grace if you could provide this type of love for them as we have felt privileged to have experienced their company. We hope someone can do the same in a warm, stable loving home environment as they really deserve the best that this life can offer them. We love them and we know that you can’t help but love them once you meet them. *****************************************************************

Brandy is a big, gentle giant - a very sweet and affectionate girl.  She is not overly active and is happy to lie around once she has had her daily walk.  Good with other dogs, Brandy loves her food, is sociable, well mannered and friendly in general.  High secure fencing required as would be expected.  Due to her white coat Brandy is prone to sunburn and will need a home with access to plenty of shade.  If you like large breeds but don't want one that is too active then Brandy could be just right for you.
