We bought Bika two weeks after the bank turned us down as house buyers. We've always been drawn to alternatives anyway, and soon moved into our new home. The rain and condensation of Norwegian winters hastened our departure. We left Stavanger, Norway in May 2005 and are still cruising. The boat is basic; no inboard, no through hulls, no chart plotter, but have essentials like a windvane, serious anchor gear and well stacked bookshelves. Our website and blog is not about sailing tech-talk, we're rather trying to understand the concept of cruising, the oceans we cross and the countries we visit. We're trying hard to keep our cruising as simple as it seems.
