Rod Ring prices 2006/2007

Rod Ring Patterns and Accessories, Prices 2006/7

Swift trileg Y-frame Aluminium oxide rings

Size

10……………………76p

12……………………92p

16………………  £1-22p

20………………..£1-75p

25………………..£2-27p

30………………..£2-83p

40....................£3-50p

These rings have similar material lining as the Fuji pattern BNHG, but  do not need the

shock liner being a more advanced pattern, thus are lighter, allowing the blank to

recover from compression when casting quicker than a rod fitted with the older

 BNHG pattern rings.

They are ideal for rebuilding older glass and semicarbon rods, where the cost of

Zirconium carbide rings is not justified, or where the budget does not allow the

additional expense. The use of the single leg variant rings at the tip of the blank

allows even quicker recovery, and greater distance for the same power input

 from the caster.

Swift monoleg Y-frame aluminium oxide rings

Size

10……………………….72p

12……………………….74p

16……………………….88p

20……………………£1-22p

These are the single leg variants mentioned above, and can be combined in a set

 similar to this:

10(tip), 10,10,10,12,16(single leg) 20,25,30(trileg). The first of the size 10s can

be a flyrod ring to bring the level down to that of the tip ring.

Fuji Products

Pattern BOG size 10. £1-25 each. These rings are used to bring the ring level down to that of the

  Fuji and Zircon tip rings.

Zirconium Carbide guides

The centres of these guides are made from Zirconium Carbide, used

in nuclear reactors as a lining for its hardness and reliability.

Tougher and lighter than aluminium oxide, the lighter design

enables more of the latent performance to be extracted

from any rod blank. A typical performance increase is between

5% and 20%. At 200 yards, that is an extra 40 yards

for no effort, IF you’re good enough!!

If you are a visitor to my workshop, I can demonstrate the advantage of

the ZrC over AlOx rod rings.

They are THE choice for anyone using superbraids.

ZDHT tip guides to match ZDVG & ZSLG guides.

8/2.8, 8/3.0 £1=83p 10/3.0 £2=08p, 10/3.5, 10/4.0 £2=14p

Swift ultralow standoff patterns

Single leg ZFHG Guide – used to lower line level to line up with tip ring.

Only one size (10) needed, only one needed per rod £1-65p each.

Using this pattern of rings, together with our computer

predicted ring spacing and Diode-laser ring alignment

method means that anglers using our Custom rod

building services have a distinct advantage over

the “one suits all” build found on proprietary

surf rods. With ease of use, greater distance

available, and better bait presentation along

with fewer crack-offs and overruns, it is up to the

user to decide which is the most important of

these…personally I give them equal value.

A good analogy is to compare Formula type racing cars

with stock cars in a race. The stock car is tougher, but

stands little chance against the performance off the start

line. If they both hit a wall, the core of the formula car

survives, although the wheels fall off; the stock car hitting

at the same speed is a total wreck, although the wheels

could probably be re-used.

Now think about a rod blank with these lightweight modern

rings, and the same power blank equipped with the out of

the ark shock-lined rings. As Rolf Harris says, can you see it yet?
