I build new rods on blanks I have in stock,or which I have on order for fast delivery. These include Conoflex, Zziplex, Century, Fibertec, Fibatube, if you have a blank that I haven't got available, or can get one quicker than I can, you provide the blank, and I'll do the rest, surf, boat, uptide spinning, carp, game,
The customer is always right when it comes to rods. BUT, over the years of building rods I have seen many customers/clients struggle with the latest record breaking hernia pole, so I have available several rods so you can try them out to see if a "Rupture stick" really will suit you, or if you will suit a rod somewhat tamer in its action.
Something to bear in mind is that I design a rod so that the blank and other fittings (rings, handle components etc.,) balance the rod. I also advise not to fit old design fittings on modern lightweight blanks.
A rebuild of an older rod can crisp-up the action of the blank, in some cases it may be possible to remove a ferrule and counter joint, and fit a spigot joint to lighten the blank. Most rods after a full strip - down to the bare blank, and preparing with abrasives, come up like new with a coat of Clearcoat 2000, a moisture curing urethane resin coat. We can stain grey carbon blanks for an extra charge, in maroon, blue or green.
Cracked/broken rings can be replaced, usually inside one day, if you are really lucky and there is a time slot, inside 15 minutes for a simple single ring replacement.
I can fit handles with shrink tube in various colours (though yellow looks atrocious!), Karakal grips, abbreviated and full cork handles, fuji or PacBay winch (reel) fittings, and various butt caps.
