We provide a vast range of Grappling techniques for Sport, Self-Defence and Law Enforcement.
Our Association has produced a number of medalists at National Ground Fighting Competitions. In fact on 3 occasions we took a team of 4 Judoka to a National Newaza (Judo Ground Work) Championships. Each time we came away with a minimum of 4 Medals.
At the most recent event event our grand total was 7 Medals: 3 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze.
Our Head Instructor is a 1st Level Black Belt in Judo, Jiu Jitsu Grappling and Self-Defence and also trains weekly in Judo and Jiu Jitsu Grappling. In addition to this David has trained with MMA Legends Pat Carr and Fabio Gurgel David is the reigning AEJF Open Weight National Newaza Champion.
We have a strong network of Grappling Instructors including Sensei Wayne Short (below):
Wayne Short Sensei (With his SWSDA Certificate)
Wayne is a simply fantastic Grappler who is also a Dan Grade in Judo and The SWSDA Grappling System. He has also trained directly under two of the most famous of the Gracie clan: Renzo and Rickson Gracie.
(Sensei Short is available for private lessons they must However, be booked at least a week in advanced).
Where and when do you train?
We are based in Hertfordshire or Herts and we have many clubs across Hertfordshire, please contact us for details of training times at your nearest club. We have new clubs at:
 Hertford: New class starting in October 2006 at Haliebury Sports Centre, Hertford Heath
Tuesdays: 8:45 - 10.15 pm
How To Find Us
Haileybury Sports Complex is situated between Hertford and Hoddesdon, about 20 miles north of central London, and is conveniently located close to the A10 and easily accessible via the M25, A1, M11 & A414.
Access is from the B1197, turn into College Road and continue to the end.
Parking is free of charge.
