Thank you for homing one of our hounds. We rarely know their full history, or the conditions under which they were kept and/or trained. As a result we can give no assurance on any aspect of their temperament or long-term physical condition. We abide by all veterinary advice given and try to make an initial assessment while the hound is in our care.

 

I the undersigned am the new owner and as such agree that:

 

• I will give the hound a good, caring home and promise that the said hound will not be raced, coursed, bred from, abandoned or given away.
• If at any time in the future I am unable to keep the hound in the agreed manner then the hound is to be returned to SVGR.
• I am responsible for all veterinary fees from the date of adoption and that I have been advised to consider the advantages of pet insurance.
• The hound will be kept in a healthy condition and de-wormed throughout their life.
• I will make provision for the hound should I need to leave him/her unattended.
• The hound will wear identification at all times; should he/she go missing, I must inform the Dog warden, Police, SVGR and take all possible steps to find him/her.
• I am aware of the special responsibilities of owning a sighthound that has been bred and trained to chase and will not allow the hound to be a nuisance or to worry any livestock.
• I understand that I am responsible for any damages that result from negligence.
• If I move house I must inform SVGR of my new address ASAP.
• If the hound has not been neutered, I will ensure that this is done by…………… and inform SVGR when this is carried out.
• I am willing for a representative of SVGR to visit the hound to check on it’s welfare at any reasonable time, if the conditions under which the hound is being kept are not satisfactory then the hound will be repossessed by SVGR.
