SWGTailor

A site for the Tailors of Star Wars Galaxies

Quick Start Guide

by Kelsaka

This is aimed at people who have respeced to the Trader: Domestic Goods profession and want to make clothing, but have never been a tailor before. This is assuming you have some knowledge of the crafting process.

What you will need.

Equipment:

  • Clothing and Armour crafting tools
  • Clothing and Armour crafting station and/or crafting droid
  • Wearable Factories (and power for them)

Bulk Resources:

  • Fiberplast (I believe you can never have too much fiberplast if you are a tailor!)
  • Polymer (you can use lubricating oil for schematics needing inert petrochemical but polymer is more useful to have on hand)
  • Hide (most schematics will take any type of hide, I normally have a good stack of scaley or leathery)
  • Metal (again most schematics are happy with any type of metal so use whichever you can get a good stack of)

Other Resources:

  • Steel
  • Copper
  • Amorphous Gemstone
  • Crystalline Gemstone
  • Wooly Hide
  • Bristley Hide
  • Iron (small amounts for jewellery)
  • Ore (small amounts for belts)
  • Bone (small amounts for Twi’lek bone crests)
  • Avian Meat (small amounts for Ithorian Ceremonial Garb)

Named Resources:

  • Plexite Amorphous Gemstone (Twi’lek Noble’s Crest)
  • Green Diamond Crystalline Gemstone (Twi’lek Noble’s Crest)
  • Thoranum Steel (Bounty Hunter’s Pack)
  • Titanium Aluminium (Spec-Ops Pack & Spec-Ops Agent Pack)
  • Tatooine Wooly Hide (High Quality Boots)
  • Nabooian Scaley Hide (Thermal Boots)

Thankfully resource quality isn’t important for tailoring as there is no experimentation anymore.

One of the first things you want to do is get a factory down, power it, and make a schematic for synthetic cloth. If you can get 16k of fiberplast and 4k of inert petrochemical to make a full run then go for it! A lot of high level tailoring schematics require identical pieces of synth cloth and its amazing how quickly you can get through a crate.

Other factory-run components you will need are:

  • Trim (used in a wide range of schematics)
  • Metal Fasteners (used in a wide range of schematics)
  • Reinforced Fiberpanels (used in a lot of field wear items and bodysuits)
  • Jewellery Settings (used a lot in dresses and jewellery)
  • Fiberplast Panels (identical pieces used in a few schematics)

You can get away with not doing factory runs on Cargo Pockets and Shoe Soles as they are not needed to be identical in any schematics.

Armour Padding is only needed by armoursmiths to make Wookiee Armour.

Once you have your tools, resources and components sorted then you can craft away to your heart’s content :)
