Amy.  I don't really have a newsie name but my friends have recently started calling me Sunstar for no particular reason, hah.

What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)?
I saw when I was in 3rd grade and I was hooked.  It's a reqiurement at the Middle School I went to to watch it in 6th grade.  At the time that I was in third, one of my brothers was in 6th so he watched it and he made me watch it and it all went downhill from there.  Haha.

Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite?
Okay, well when I first saw it I loved Race.  His accent and his witt, just everything about him.  But now it's kinda a tie between him and Mush because Mush is so sweet and cute and innocent.  Then I like Blink, Skittery and Spot for no particular reason.

Who is your least favorite newsie? Why?
No one really, but for some odd reason I don't really like Jack.  Which is weird because I like Christain Bale in like every other movie.

Who is your favorite bad person? Why?
Probably Weasle.  I don't even know why, haha.

Who do you think most people's favorite newsie is?

Do you like this newsie, or do you think he's overrated?
I think he's kinda overrated but it seems like everyone else likes him.  A lot.

Yes, I know what it is.  It is like the funniest, cheesiest movie ever.  Lmao.  I love the part where Mark David (Specs, Don Knots) keeps trying to kill Michael Goorjian (Skittery) and also when Mark David is put into the mental institution right at the very end when he's talking to himself.  Lol.  I liked Dutchy's death the most because of how cheesy and corny it was but it was still hilarious at the same time.

what it is?
I'd prefer not to give out my real-life name, simply for purposes of
anonymity. I will, however, tell you that my newsies name of choice is Hush,
as at first glance I appear to be very quiet and reserved. However, once you
get to know me you'll find out that I'm quite the opposite. Hopefully you'll
get a kick out of the irony of my newsies name.

I'm Seventeen years old.

What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)?
When I first was introduced to "Newsies", I was in 9th grade. It all started
in a CD store, where a friend of mine by chance found the "Newsies"
soundtrack. She seemed mildly excited and explained to me that she loved the
movie when she was little, but she never actually explained the movie in
detail, and as a result I had a lack of interest in it. However, she played
the soundtrack in the car on the ride home and I found it to be cute. At
first I didn't know it was about newsboys. After I heard the soundtrack I
was mildly interested. So, eventually one day I slept over that same friends
house and we watched it. I loved it! I havent seen it since untill this year
when one of my other friends gave me one of her "Newsies" DVDs (apparently
she had two). I forgot how great it was, and I've been more "obessed", you
could say, this time around.

Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite?
Spot Conlon is my favorite newsie. He's adorable & intimidating and
honestly, I dig the slingshot.

Who is your least favorite newsie? Why?
Ah, I don't have a least favorite newsie. They all have their own loveable
quirks and character traits.

Who is your favorite bad person? Why?
Well, Pulitzer I suppose. Simply because of his robotic mannerisms.

Who do you think most people's favorite newsie is?

Sure I like him, who could dislike the revolutionary-type-leader of the
story?

Ahh, yes, the almost infamous Blood Drips spoof. Well, I've never actually
seen it, although I've heard of it. It sounds fantastic, I'm thinking about
buying it if I can find it.

Unfortunately, I've yet to meet a newsie. But hey, who knows, maybe some day

I have two Newsies names one of them being Sparrow,which is rather corny and came from my obbsession with Johnny Depp. My friend came up with Two-Bit after reading The Outsiders cause I never shut up even if I tried to.

What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? My Music Appriciation teacher let us watch it in class one day,minute I saw it I was hooked and went out and bought it the next day

Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? Jack, Spot, and Racetrack.  Jack: because Christian Bale rocks and  Jack's just so sweet,but he can be tough while being sweet.hope that ain't confusin'.  Spot: BROOKLYN!!! Ha. need I say more? He's just great,he reminds me of Al Capone or something.  Racetrack: his accent rocks and he's hilarious.Plus he has an addiction to cards like I do.

Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? none of them. I love all the Newsies and couldn't pick one I hate.

My name is Heather. My Newsie name is "Hedda," which, at the time my friends and I came up with it, is what we thought it would sound like if a Newsie said my name.

If you would like to tell me, how old are you? Since I saw a few other 20-somethings, I am now more comfortable doing this survey... however, I have them all beat- I am 28. 

What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)?
In junior high, I used to get those teen magazines (like Bop and TigerBeat) and I developed a crush on Trey Parker after I saw Hull High pictures of him. So I wrote him a fan letter and got 2 (count 'em 2!) autographed cards in return. One was a Hull High promotional card and the other was a picture of hiim as Kid Blink to promote Newsies. So, he was hot and the promotional card made it look promising that there were more hot boys in the movie, so my best friend and I went to see it and BINGO! Two 14 year old girls with raging hormones (as raging as they can get at 14) fell in love with "Newsies." And now, almost 15 years later... I am still a big ol' Newsies Dork!

Oy... it changed several times, but I think the most enduring is Racetrack. I love that Vinnie Delpino moved to the big screen!!

Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? Snitch. With all due apologies to those who love him, his eyes always kind of wierded me out

*01 - What is your name? What is your newsie name, and why is your newsie name what it is? = My name is Coline. I have about three newsie names.
The first is my mock name: David. I act nothing like him at all, so I don't know how I acquired it.
The second is my fanfiction name: Jackal. I have a fanfiction character based on me, and that's how I got that name.
The third is Banisters. That actually has a long story behind it that my friend forbids me to tell.

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = I owe it all to my seventh grade history teacher. As a team activity and part of our study of child labor, she made us watch the movie.
However, I left to go to drama class (everyone else stayed and skipped 4th period) and missed everything that happened after "Santa Fe"
Later, everyone was like: "Oh, yeah, it was a great movie" so I rented it that weekend.
I fell in love with the movie, and ended up keeping it for a few weeks (I watched parts of it every day).
Now, it's been about year since I first saw it, and I still love it, although I only watch is about once every month or two.

When I first watched Newsies, I told myself not to like him, because I assumed everyone in my class would.
Well, I gave up that idea pretty soon.
I love Jack because:
1. He's played by Christian Bale, one of the most talented actors around.
2. His attitude is brilliant. He's a modest leader and always watching out for his friends.
3. He's...awesome.

06 - Who is your favorite bad person? Why? = Pulitzer, simply because I think Robert Duvall is an amazing performer.

08 - Do you like this newsie, or do you think he's overrated? = Spot's alright, but I think he is overrated. No offense to Gabe Damon, but I don't find Spot to be the most attractive guy in the movie.

I own Blood Drips.
I love the whole part where Michael Goorjian is in his trailer and "Don Knotts" does the whole "telegram, flowers, landshark!" thing.
As for a favorite death, I love when three (or is it four, I haven't watched it in a while) of the actors die while Michael is going over ways to avoid getting killed.

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = Gah.  This is an interesting one... hold on.. I have it saved on the comp somewhere... let me go get it:
Christmas 2005.  I can remember it like it was yesterday, because it was the first time I was introduced to the movie Newsies.  Now, at this point, I was in my Phantom of the Opera stage, and received a copy of that movie for Christmas.  So when my parents suggested that we watch a movie, of course I pushed for Phantom of the Opera.  But my sister ran into the other room and pulled out a DVD, proclaiming it the best movie in the world.  I fought and fought against it because I really wanted to watch Phantom of the Opera, and I thought Newsies sounded stupid.  Not because of the story, because no one bothered to explain it to me.  But I thought the title sounded so stupid.  And when you think about it, if you don't know what the movie is about, it does sound pretty stupid.  Anyway, my sister won the battle because my parents were sick of hearing the Phantom of the Opera music all the time.  So, instead of watching Newsies, I curled up in the corner with my book.  I stayed like that until I saw Jack.  I fell head over heels in love.  But I had stubbornly decided not to like the movie, so I buried myself back in my book.  But then, the music started.  My family had neglected to inform me it was a musical, and let me tell you something.  I LOVE MUSICALS.  If it's a musical, I will usually want to watch it.  So, when Racetrack sang the first line of Carrying The Banner, my book fell to the floor and I was absolutely riveted for the rest of the movie.  And there it is.  From there on in, I was obsessed for life!!

*01 - What is your name? What is your newsie name, and why is your newsie name what it is? = My name is Rylie. My newsies name is Piker. a Pike is another name for a street, and i like to get out of my house and eaither walk or ride my bike down the streets and go places for the day.

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = In my chorus class back in 7th grade (4 years ago) our teacher let us vote on which movie we wanted to watch. Newsies was one of the choices, and it gets voted every year. I didn't think i was going to like it, so i didn't vote for it. But it won, and we watched it. I fell COMPLETELY in love with it and all it's characters, and i still love it today.
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = My favorite Newsies is Mush. I like him because he's is a great dancer, and has an amazing voice. He's also very cute, and has great abs. I also thought that his character was a really nice person.

I havn't seen it yet, but my mom is gonna buy it for me. But i've read the script and listened to sound clips. The part i liked the most was when Mike was leading everyone through the alley, and telling them how to stay safe and everything. One by one, they all get killed behind him and when he turns around he's like "oh s***."
I liked Mike's death the most (even though he never really died) but it was funny cuz no matter what Don did, Mike never died and it made Don get so frusterated! It was hilarious!

I saw Max Casella in the lion king on broadway. His performance was so great and very funny!
I also saw Trey Parker at a backstreet boys concert. He and his band, EYC, were the opening act. I just loved them and our boy had such a great voice!

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = When I was on my Church Youth Group Snow Boarding Trip, one of the boys from the church that was joining us had Newsies and a laptop. On the first night, I (girls were down stairs & boy were up-stairs) heard this movie being played & thought it sounded interisting. So, the next day, I asked my best friend (who's a boy) what they were watching. He told mr that they were watching some movie called Newsies. That night I convinced the owner to let me watch it. And that, my friend, was the first day of the rest of my life.
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = Snitch. Why? I am afraid that I don't know.

*01 - What is your name? What is your newsie name, and why is your newsie name what it is? = Hello, I am ShoeGoil...known as Cassie in real life.  What can I say?  I am called Shoe because I have nice ones. simple as that!

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = I um....hmm.  Don't know how to answer that.  I first saw the movie in junior high.  became obsessed in high school, left the newsie world (and the NML) after my first year in college, and just recently returned, 5 years later, because i missed the people (that is, fellow fans).  Does that answer the question?
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = I like Itey.  He is sweet and silly, and perfect little brother material.  (also have a soft spot for Bumlets....)
05 - Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? = Swifty does NOTHING for me.  He is quite icky and scary.  yikes.
06 - Who is your favorite bad person? Why? = I would say...Medda.  So she's not really a bad person, but I tend to enjoy her while no one else does!  so, boo.  She's my favorite bad person.  If that's not a good answer, i will say Oscar  and Morris Delancy.

08 - Do you like this newsie, or do you think he's overrated? = Sorry...very much so overrated.  I just...he kinda freaks me out.  Too tough. but not tough at all. wierd.

Whose death did you like the most? = I know what it is, but I haven't felt like I could cough up the dough so i could see it.  It sounds hilarious.  I love parodies.  It's the only kind of FF i write.  Oh.  but i know my least favorite death scene is Blink's.  that's just wrong!
10 - Have you every met an actor from Newsies? If so, who and when?? Details, please!!  = Why, yes I have. two of them, actually.  I met Itey (Dominic Maldonado) when i took a dance class from him one time.  and I met Jake (Joseph Conrad) when I went to my cousin's uncle's dance studio, where he was teaching a class (but I didn't actually take it).  this was 5 and 6 years ago, though, so don't think I'm all best friends with them now or anything.  Just met them both the one time. 

 

*01 - What is your name? What is your newsie name, and why is your newsie name what it is? = My real name is Cindie...but to the Newsie Woild, my name is Greenberry Hair Bonner. And you're in for a decently long story, but I will give you the down and dirty shorter version.
Greenberry - I was in the annual musical called Salado Legends in Salado, Texas when I was brought back into the Newsie Woild by my dear friends: Tipsy, Blossom, and Stitch. Tipsy was going through this book of 1800 - 1900 period names and she came across "Greenberry" as I walked by and stopped me to dub me the name because she said I was the perfect person for that name.
Hair - This is actually the part of my name that I had received first. I was at a Newsies sleepover at Blossom's and every movie I watched, I seemed to be fascinated with guys with pretty hair. I kept saying, "He has really nice hair." OR "He has really nice hair for a cartoon." Originally it was "Harry" but I wouldn't take it. So the just called me "Hair".
Bonner - Was given to me because I needed a last name. I was orginally going to be "Griffith" because in Salado Legends my character's last name was "Griffith", but we already had one of them in our Newsie Woild. So Tipsy decided on "Bonner" and it stuck.
Therefore, I am proudly known as Greenberry Hair Bonner. *Ü*
02 - If you would like to tell me, how old are you? = 22
03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = I actually remember seeing a preview for it one time back when it originally came out in 1992 (or late 1991). I was in love/obsessed with it ever since. But I didn't actually get to see it until a few years later in about 1995 and got RE-obsessed with it. After that, I fell out of the Newsie Woild and didn't get back into it until about 1999 or 2000 when I saw it in my choir class and got RE-obsessed with it. I "stole" my teacher's copy and told him my VCR ate it and offered to pay him for it, but he said not to worry about it. So I got the movie for free! Then someone stole it from me back in 2002 (I believe) and I fell back out of the Newsie Woild. Finally I joined Salado Legends in 2004 and Tipsy, Blossom, and Stitch happened to be talking about it backstage and said, "I love Blink! He's too cute and he makes eyepatches sexy!" So since they were looking for a Blink fanatic, they let me in their Lodging House and I've been RE-obsessed ever since! *Ü*
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = Kid Blink is my all-time favorite because of his attitude on life. He's not afraid to risk hisself for his friends and that's so admirable. And he also makes eyepatches so sexy!
Jake also has a good spot in my heart because of his awesome facial expressions and calves! Besides, his bowler hat is flippin' awesome!
And another one is actually NOT a Newsie but a Delancey. I love Morris! It's just the fact that he's really a nice person and told Oscar to shut up! And when I found out that he's an Interior Designer, I fell in love with him even more! (And yes, I want to be an Interior Designer.) *Ü*
05 - Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? = Everyone loves Jack, Davey, and Spot. Why? I mean, they're gorgeous, but that's about it. (My opinion here...I know there's more to them so don't hate me for it!) And I really do love them, I just don't know the ENTIRE fascination with just those three!
However, I love them all and it's almost non-Newsie Freak to say I really don't like any of them...because I really do love them all. *Ü*

So I went to our local video store to see if they had it but they didn't. So I went to ever town that had a mall and a video store until I finally found The Newsies DVD. I got home and watched it the same day and INSTANTLY loved it!
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = Spot. I'm not sure why, well the hottness is one reason. The other is probably his facial expressions and his coldness.

But i actually had a very realistic dream that I met Aaron Lohr after going to one of his shows and when i woke up I thought it really happened (and was very upset when i realized it didn't lol) but no. 04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = ok, my favorite lead is david becasue he is really smart and polite and i always liked him. my favorite secondary character is kid blink, hes like a really cool sidekick or something. my favorite backround newsie is specs, becasue he had glasses like me and i love his voice.
05 - Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? = my least favorite is crutchy for some reason. he just always annoyed me.

Details, please!!  = YES I HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i met........Christian Bale!!!!!!! my friend, jesse was an extra in one of his mmovies. so he flew me out to california (my friend is so cool) and we went on the set. and jesse just walked up and we talked to him!!!!! it was amazing, he actually did a pelvic thrust for me!! i told him i loved newsies and he sent a messenger off the set and bought him jesse and i matching newsies hat. It was soooooooooo cool. that was a couple years ago but it was still an amazing experience.

03 - What is your conversion story (how did you become obsessed with Newsies)? = Hmm, I remember when it first came out in the theatre I really wanted to see it, but my parent's wouldn't take me :( -sniff- anyway, a year or two later my cousin and I watched it and we were HOOKED! Sadly, I've never grown out of the addiction...I just love the characters and music and story - it's just such a feel good film! Brings a smile to my face every time; nostalgic sentimentalities... : )
04 - Who is your favorite newsie and why is that newsie your favorite? = Jack, of course! He's so gosh darn adorable - my knight in shining armour. He's got his head in the clouds and is a dreamer just like me... My cousin always loved Spot, so he was her man; and I got my Jack as mine...
05 - Who is your least favorite newsie? Why? = Hmm, you know that guy that's standing on the dock when Jack, Davey, and Boots go to Brooklyn; and that guy sneers at Jack and says 'Goin' somewhere, Kelly?' - yeah, I don't like that guy too much; givin' lip to my man! Heehee
06 - Who is your favorite bad person? Why? = Pulitzer - he's so crazy and he has some really good scenes with Jack.
