A/N: Oh I just had to mesh the two. And before you ask why
this is an AU, well here's the reason. Is Danny part of the Las Vegas crime lab
officially? No? Then AU it is!

David didn't particularly enjoy Christmas, so it didn't help
matters when Greg decided to decorate the crime lab with far too much
mistletoe. He usually ignored the Christmas decorations, the Christmas lights,
and the Christmas cheer… Generally David had the ability to ignore the
Christmas spirit. But not this time, he was completely taken aback with the
unspeakable amount of mistletoe. If it were last year, he would ignore this
like he would with everything else because mistletoe always led to kissing and
nobody in the crime lab would want to kiss David Hodges. Not in the general
public. He was sure of it.
This year, however, David was uncertain.
If it weren't for a certain CSI, who decided to transfer to
the Nevada desert from New York two months ago, David's reasoning would stand.
If Danny Messer didn't come by his trace lab every so often, with that smile and that accent, treating him normally, even though he was warned of David's snark and wit, charming him with his own special way, David wouldn't be ducking at the sight of mistletoe.
If Danny Messer didn't ask him out to breakfast where they
realized they got along, David wouldn't be watching the entrance to his lab for
a sign of the New Yorker.
If Danny Messer didn't announce to the whole lab when he
asked David Hodges on a date, he wouldn't be worried about what Danny
would do when he did come by, wondering how crazy New Yorkers really are.
But David knew this was inevitable, when he caught sight of Danny walking towards his lab, wearing a wreath of mistletoe on his head.
"Merry Christmas, Dave," he said, smiling at David.
David hated that smile as much as he hated being called 'Dave'. And hated that
wreath on Danny's head. It was filled with holiday cheer.
"Somebody shoot me," David said rolling his eyes.
Danny just laughed.
"Let me guess, you're really a Scrooge like everyone
says you are," Danny said, moving in closer to him, leaning casually
against the table. David did his best to ignore the mischief behind Danny's
sparkling blue eyes.
"I refrain from all my 'bah, humbug' moments but I can
bring it out just for you." David said.
"Aw, Dave. I knew you loved me," Danny said,
inching closer. David's warning bells were ringing but he only realized too
late Danny's plan all along. With a quick athletic maneuver, Danny had closed
in, trapping him in the enclosed space between Danny's arms. David was locked
between Danny, his arms and his table.
"But you see, I've been wearing mistletoe wreath and I
know you've been aching to kiss me." Danny pointed out, smirking.
"Aching my foot, Mes—"The rest of his sentence were swallowed by Danny's mouth. When he pulled away, David was left blinking. Danny just placed the wreath on his head before walking out of the lab. It took David a few seconds to compose himself and glance at his new headpiece.
He was right about two things: New Yorkers are crazy, and he
still didn't enjoy Christmas… but he likes mistletoe, not that he was
going to admit it out loud.

End… for now.
