The measured amount of rainfall per annum in the great state of Nevada was 7.87 inches. In New York, it is measured at 39.28 inches. That said, it only meant that there was less rain here than in New York. After all, Nevada is a desert. No one expected heavy showers here.

Besides, David preferred sunny days, despite his disposition with everyone else. So his mood was darkened like the clouds above his house that day. When the droplets pattered against his windows, David curled into his chair, resisting the urge to hiss. He hated the rain. It was cold and wet and depicted sad images. Like the guy who never gets the girl or the little hungry orphan or stray kittens. David shook his head and made a point to stop watching sap movies with Jacqui Franco.

When he felt the wind blow in, he got up, intent on closing whatever was left open so that it wouldn’t seep into the wood flooring and be a breeding ground for fungi and the like. What he didn't expect was Danny standing at the front lawn as the rain fell. He was looking up, arms open and grinning.

David contemplated on whether to call Danny in or not.

The love of his life was getting the white wifebeater that he wore to sleep soaked and sticking to his well-toned body. And because it was white, the rain made the cloth translucent, so everyone in the vicinity (which was only David at the moment) could see just how many lines his abs had. Droolworthy? Hell yes. Instant yum? Take Danny Messer and just add water. In fact, he didn’t need water for that.

Then again, rainwater tended to increase the body temperature and work sinuses in a quick frenzy. David wasn’t up to playing nurse because of his lover’s stupidity. He didn’t want to go through being worried that Danny might faint from his stuffed nostrils while he ran trace at work. He could take time off and they could go on and on about David’s job on the line against Danny’s health. He wasn’t too sure he needed a fight over his priorities. Nothing ranked above Danny Messer.

So he weighed his options. Sick Danny Against Happy Danny.

David made a decision.

He stepped outside, joining Danny in the rain. Danny smiled before pulling David in a tight embrace before pecking him lightly on the cheek, trailing his mouth and capturing it into a kiss.

Here they were kissing in the rain like a bad teen flick. David didn’t care though, as cliché as their moment was to be, he loved every second of it. Not because it was sweet. But because it was Danny with him.

“You catch a cold, I’m not going to care,” David said, breaking the kiss. Danny smirked, almost expecting his remarks.

“Dave, I’m going to make sure you fall sick with me,” he remarked, not letting the other man go.

David tried to glare at his lover but failed miserably when Danny looked up again, smiling broadly. There was no doubt about it. Danny loved the rain and David was set to loving everything Danny did. Even if it meant fevers, coughs, sneezes and clot up sinus cavities.

Besides, a little bit of rain didn’t hurt anyone.
