I just wanted to let everyone know that, since I am home for awhile, I have started some new endeavors, including MySpace. So, check out what I have going on there. www.myspace.com/swbroadway It's mostly just a little more personal than this website. I think my personal blog will be there from now on, and this one will be more related to Southwest of Broadway.
Keep checking back!
Well, I'm back from surgery in Denver. Everything went pretty well, except they got more than they bargained for. They had to also take my appendix because it was in pretty bad shape. And, part of the ovary they were supposed to remove in February was still there. Yikes! But all is well, I suppose. I will update more later, but thanks to all who have sent prayers God's way and well wishes my way regarding all of this stuff. It means more than I can tell you.
So, I've decided to start a Blog, obviously. The purpose will be to update those who care on some happenings in my life, and also make note of things in the theatre world that are happening at the time. I'll start with the biggest news to hit musical theatre in a very long time. Okay...so in MY world, this is the biggest news to hit musical theatre in a very long time. Scott Bakula is back! He is currently starring in Shenandoah at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C.. Have I ever mentioned that I love him? If anyone who happens to know him just happens to stumble upon this website, or even someone who knows someone who knows someone, I WANT AN INTERVIEW! I think Scott Bakula would be my number one interview dream. So spread the word! Together, we can make this happen!
And now in personal news...I'm not quite sure just how reliable I will be in the coming weeks. I am going to make every effort to have new shows on every week, live whenever possible. However, on April 4 I have to have some surgery, and I am not really sure how long I will be out of commission. But I will try to post updates on this blog. I would appreciate the prayers of anyone who feels so inclined. On February 6, when my second son was delivered by c-section, they found a tumor on my one remaining ovary and removed the tumor and ovary. The first ovary was removed when I was 17 years old, due to a cancerous tumor. With this second tumor, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer for the second time in my life. Now, the doctors say I am at fairly high risk for Uterine, Breast, and Colon Cancers. So...on April 4 I am having a hysterectomy. They are also going to do colon and breast biopsies at the same time. If all is well, then I just have to have regular tests and check-ups. If they discover something, they are prepared to start me on chemotherapy right away. So, as I said, I would appreciate prayer if you would be so kind.
On a happier note...I love Scott Bakula!
