There are several Chemicals that used for printing, there is local or hand made and import or industrial made from other country. The chemicals discuss here mostly hand made.
Gelatin - Dichromate 1. This chemicals mix with hand and can’t keep long on bottle, so be better use as soon as possible after compose. Composition of this mixture are:
1. 18 gram Gelatin + 55 cc of hot water 70 oC..
2. 3.5 gram Kalium Dichromate + 15 cc of hot water 70 oC.
Each of those mixture blend evenly, after both chemicals ready then mix between solution (1) and solution (2) and blend again evenly.
Gelatin - Dichromate 2. This solution is hand made and able to keep until 7 days. Keep this solution in dark color bottle.
1. 18 gram Gelatin + 55 cc of hot water 70 oC..
2. 0.7 gram Citroen Zuur + 7 cc of cold water.
3. 3.5 gram Kalium Dichromate + 15 cc of hot water 70 oC...
4. 8 cc of 10 % Ammoniac solution or 6 cc of 25 % dilute Ammoniac.
Mix the first solution between solution (2) and (4) then make the second solution between solution (1) + (3) add with (2) also. After both solution are ready and already blend evenly, mix both solution and blend evenly.
Gelatin - Dichromate 3. This solution can be used directly or be kept in the dark bottle.
1. 125 gram Gelatin + 552.5 gram of hot water 70 oC.
2. 50 gram Zink Oxide 50 gram + 200 gram of cold water.
3. 13.5 gram Ammonium Dichromate + 6.5 gram Kalium Dichromate.
4. 5 gram of 10% dilute Ammoniac + 2.5 gram T.R.O.
All the solution mix orderly from number 1 to 4.
Gelatin - Dichromate 4. The preparation of this chemicals are similar with preparation of Solution Gelatin - Dichromate 3, but the composition are different.
1. 95 gram Gelatin + 865 gram of hot water 60 oC.
2. 13.5 gram Ammonium Dichromate
3. 20 gram 10 % dilute Ammonium Dichromate.
4. 3.5 gram T.R.O.
Gelatin - Dichromate 5. The preparation of this chemicals are similar with preparation of Solution Gelatin - Dichromate 3, but the composition are different.
1. 115 gram Gelatin + 1000 gram of hot water 60 oC.
2. 65 gram Ammoniac + 7 gram Citroen Zuur + 70 gram of cold water.
3. 35 gram of Kalium Dichromate + 50 gram of hot water 70 oC.
Polyvinyl alcohol - Dichromate
1. 475 gram of Emulsion Polyvinyl Alcohol + hot water 70 oC then mix evenly.
2. 30 gram of Ammonium Dichromate + 125 gram of hot water 70 oC.
Each of those solution should be dilute until even the mix together slowly. To get more viscose can mix with 3 % of Titanium Dioxide until the total solution get 1000 gram. This chemicals then keep in dark bottle.
The printing chemicals of Industrial made can be in mixed powder of chromium and gelatin in a various trade mark, usually available in printing shop. This chemicals just need to solve in hot water then ready to use.
Procedure:
Chemicals powder of 20 gram Chrome Gelatin + 100 gram Air panas 70 oC, then blend until all chemicals dissolved and even. Put in the dark bottle to keep. The color of this chemicals is red yellowish.
Other chemicals is called Super Emulsion 5. This chemicals is ready to use. Procedure to use this chemicals:
100 gram Super Emulsion 5 + 12 gram Ammonium Dichromate. 150 grams of this chemicals can be used for size screen 75 cm x 140 cm.
Super Emulsion 5 sometimes coagulate because of cold air. To reuse this chemicals just dissolved in 80 oC of hot water. Let the chemicals submerge in hot water until soft then stir until dissolved evenly. Color of this chemicals is blue. To make faster on dissolving the chemicals, it can be refined Ammonium Dichromate using mortar then dissolved.
