Swansea Finswimming Club

Welcome to Swansea Finswimming Club

Swansea Finswimming Club is Wales' premier finswimming club. We were started in 2001, as part of the University of Wales Swansea's swimming club. Our finswimmers have won medals at both national championships last year. We have two coaches, one of whom is the current National Coach.

We train at the National Pool of Wales, Swansea, on Monday (9 p.m.), Wednesday (9 p.m.) and Friday (7.30 p.m.) nights. If you are interested in taking part in the sport or just interested in having a look, please come to a session. If you want to take part, please be on poolside fifteen minutes before the session starts. All you need to bring is yourself, a swimming costume, goggles (not glass masks please), towel, a kick board and some normal fins (not heavy, strapped scuba fins). The club has a stock of centre-mounted snorkels and monofins.

If you have any questions email Graham Forster (the club's chairperson) at
graham@caloncardio.com or Alaric at alaric.finswimming@gmail.com.

Help needed ...

Swansea Finswimming Club are looking for ...

Sponsors:

Our current sponsors help us with some equipment (drinks bottles from Schmoos) or some publicity (from Beyond 9 to 5). However, we are looking for partners to help fund three main projects; BFA Clubmark programme (starting later in the year), Swansea Schools (starting in September) and Elite Performance (already started). We are willing to discuss media and publicity opportunities with our partners. Please contact Alaric Smith (email: alaric.finswimming@gmail.com).

New members:

If you are interested, please contact Graham (email: g
raham@caloncardio.com) or Alaric (email: alaric.finswimming@gmail.com). Alternatively come to one of our training sessions. Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome. Anyone under 12 should be accompanied by their parents (and please contact us first).

Coaching Assistants:

We need people to stand on poolside to help the club coaches. Initially, you do not need to have any knowledge of the sport but must be willing to keep lane discipline and have an interest in sports in general. The head coach is willing to take individuals through the BFA Level 1 Coaching Certificate and have them tested for free. Please contact Alaric if you are interested (email: alaric.finswimming@gmail.com).
