Our Story......

begins October of 1991 in Dayton, Ohio.  Jessica began working at a mexican restaurant named Chi-Chi's as a hostess.  Ed was working as a food server at the time.  On her first day of work ,Jessica met Ed in the strangest of circumstances.  She took her lunch break and was sitting in the breakroom drinking a Diet Coke.  Ed came into the room, got down on one knee and proposed on the spot.  Jessica, being the innocent 16 year old, gave him a sheepish smile and thought to herself "who does that?"  This was before Ed knew she was jail-bait.

After months of working together, a friendship developed and Jessica developed an unbelievable crush on Ed.  Eventually, however, Ed stopped working at Chi-Chi's, but he stopped by periodically and kept in touch.  On one of his visits, Jessica gave him a kiss on the cheek....it is all history from there.  Turns out, Ed had an unbelievable crush on Jessica also.

Jessica and Ed dated from 1993 - 1995.  They enjoyed spending time together, but inevitably, the romantic relationship ended when they realized the age difference did not work for them.  They continued to be friends even after the break up, and Ed continued to stalk Jessica.

Both went on with their lives, and eventually, Ed decided it was time to move to Arizona.  Jessica and Ed had discussed this move during the relationship, and even named his dog Phoenix.  They met to have dinner before he moved in 1998.  It was a very emotional goodbye.

In February of 1999, Jessica flew to Phoenix to visit Ed.  Some of the old romance was rekindled.  Jessica thought she might be able to move to Arizona once she graduates from college in May, but, alas, she chickened out.  What followed in the next two years was quite a mess.

Ed's heart was broken by Jessica's choice.  They did not talk after that and actually lost touch with each other.  Jessica started dating another guy and ended up having a baby with him in June of 2000.  Her name was Kaitlyn Alexis Cribbs.  Jessica did get in touch with Ed when she had the baby, but only because she was able to find his parents in the phone book.  Jessica stayed in that relationship until 2002.

Jessica started thinking about Ed again and gave him a call in August of 2002.  She tried to convince him to come to Ohio for a visit over Christmas.  He thought it was more important to date a new lady, but finally gave in February of 2003.  Ed visited Ohio during an actual blizzard.  He was miserable for those 4 days.  This trip solidified it for them both....they needed to be together.  He also met the 2 year old Kaitlyn and thought she was coolest kid he ever met.

Jessica flew back and forth between Ohio and Arizona over the next year.  On New Years Eve of 2003, Ed proposed.  His proposal went all the way back to the first time he had proposed.  Finally in July 2004, Jessica and Kaitlyn moved to Arizona with Ed.

The wedding occurred on December 11, 2004 in Ohio at a bed and breakfast.  It was an outdoor wedding with a Christmas theme, but it was a beautiful ceremony.  Jessica cried walking down the aisle.

They were baptized at their home church, Christ's Church of the Valley, in January of 2006.

They bought their first house April of 2007 in Glendale, Arizona.

In July of 2007, while Jessica was visiting her family in Ohio, she called Ed to let him know that they were expecting a child.  He was a little stunned, but it wasn't a big surprise since they had been talking about it for a few months.  On April 7th, after 15 hours of labor, Jessica gave birth to Peyton Elizabeth Swann.  Inexplicably, Ed fell in love with the little girl.
