For Sugar Glider Education

In the Wild

In the wild, sugar gliders live together in groups called "colonies". They are arboreal, nocturnal, and territorial animals.

In Captivity

Sugar gliders are able to be tamed, and enjoy spending time with those they've bonded with. This process can be longer than most people would expect (an average of 2-3 weeks).
Many people, including myself, have observed that gliders seem happiest when they are able to have the companionship of another glider. They enjoy playing, sleeping, and exploring with each other. Even if you're able to spend a lot of time with them, they still desire and thrive with the companionship of a member of their own species.
Gliders are active at night, and will spend many hours playing, eating, and wanting to interact with those they trust. If kept in a bedroom, the noise they make can either lull you to sleep or keep you awake, depending on the individual.
