YOUR LIONS CLUB NEEDS YOU

In order to serve the local community, more members are needed. The club is anxious to recruit community minded adults of either sex who wish to put something back into the community in which they live or work.

Projects include:

·        Equipment and hands on help for the Inner-City Camp Trust, who provide camping holidays for disadvantaged children.

·        Support for a Residential Home for people with Learning Disabilities

·        Regular Collection of used spectacles for Recycling in the Third World

·        Organisation of a Tea Party and Entertainment for around 100 Senior Citizens

·        Equipment for Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust, Oncology Unit

·        Motor car conversion to hand controls for a cancer sufferer

·        Support for the MS Association

·        Sponsorship of Donkeys at the Elisabeth Svendson Trust for Donkeys and Children

·        And many other local community projects . . .

FUNDRAISING AND FINANCE

A full programme of Fundraising events is undertaken in order to finance Community Projects. However, the administration of the club is paid for by its members who give their time voluntarily. There are no full time, paid organisers.

SOCIAL

Social functions are an important part of any Lions Club and functions are arranged throughout the year. These range from BBQ’s to Dinner Dances, from Skittles to Treasure Hunts and from Picnics to Quizzes.
