The Head Coaches

Lianne Weston (27) & Helen Coe (27)

Lianne Weston and Helen Coe are both qualified cheerleading coaches at Masters level NCSSE and fully credentialled to Level 5 USASF.They Started coaching the Sussex Tornados back in 1998 when there was just 8 members. They now coach a squad of nearly 100 which consists of, Pee Wee Coed Cheer, Pee Wee Stunt Group, Junior Cheer, Junior Stunt Group, Junior Coed Stunt Group, Junior Dance, Senior Stunt Group, Senior Coed Stunt Group, Senior Coed Cheer, Senior Trio Partner Stunt Group, Senior Dance. They have since travelled from all over England & Scotland to across the world to Denmark- Norway- Japan- USA- Germany- Malaysia and Russia.

They were asked to perform as part of 'Team UK 2005' and travelled to Tokoyo, Japan with another squad member Carly Johnson and other cheerleaders from across the UK, to compete against the worlds best at the Worlds Cheerleading Championships.

In June 2006 they were also asked to be part of the 'Stunt and Cheer Allstars' who competed at Loughborough University. And While Helen took the Junior Coed Stunt team to Norway to compete at the European championships, Lianne travelled to Malaysia with the BCA and taught thousands of cheerleaders and judged their National and regional competition.

They are both members of BCA Staff which involves training squads on behalf of the British Cheerleading Association and helps them with all functions and events and represents them in all they do.

Lianne was again successful and became part of the 'Team UK 2008' and travelled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the Worlds Cheerleading Championships and has also passed her judges exams so is now a qualifed judge!!

These are all great achievements to have under the Sussex Tornados belt!!!

JUNIOR COACHES:

Kelly Boiling- Pee Wee Coach. 

Kelly started coaching our Pee Wee squad when they first started in June 2006. She coaches the 10 to 12 year olds at Level 2. they compete twice a year and last year came away with a 3rd Place in Youth Level 2.

Carley Johnson & Alison Burns - Prep Coaches.

Carley & Alison took over coaching the Prep Squad in June 2008, they coach the 4 to 9 year olds at Level 1. They last competed late last year and came away with a 2nd place. An Excellant achievement. 

Phil Jeffery- Gymnastic Coach

Phil is our Gym coach and has been with us from the beginning. He has helped alot of our squad with their flicks and tucks and our newest members with their kartwheels. We do not have a lot of time to focus on our tumbling skills as our time is limited but Phil is always there to help with any skills or tumble and has always been and will always be a true and loyal friend to the Sussex Tornados.
