1861 census: Charles (born 1832 Petworth) and Jane Ward (born 1832 Cirencester) living Stedham Common. Occupation: grocer. Daughter  Rosehannah jane (born 1859)

1871 census: Sarah residing with parents at Stedham Common beer shop. Henry at 4 lavender Row, Stedham. Charles with brother William R (1862) and sister Rosa (1864). No parents listed but lodger Charlotte Ward, unmarried born 1822

1881 census: Sarah living with parents Stedham Common. No occupation. Father coal merchant publican

Charles residing with mother. Chales a baker living Back Street Stedham with his mother, a butlerís wife, His father was butler to Ellen Dickson, admiralís widow Hartham House, Corsham near Chippenham.

1888: 18/11/1888 At time of marriage (by banns) both were living 544 Commercial Road. Fathers given as publican and butler. Witnesses William and Ellen Sedgwick

1891 census:  Residing: New Inn St, Stedham  occupation: Henry a publican & grocerís assistant. Living with them Charles Weeks boarder and Kitty Lintott nurse.

1901 census: Sarah residing with brother John (no husband), Stedham. John was a publican

Charlesís parents Charles and Jane were living Lutener Road, Easebourne. He was a domestic gardener. She died 1905 and Charles 1906

1911 census: Residing South Harting. No husband or occupation but states she is married. With her are sons Henry and Archibald, and lodgers Annie Grover 40 single assistant schoolmistress; Elias William Prince 32 painter and decorator and Horatio Nelson Garland 24 painter and decorator. Both from Portsmouth; Lewis Hammond 19 butchers assistant
