William Steer may have bdeen the son of Henry Steer (see Steer, Henry). He married Mary Tickner the hald sister of my ancestor James Steer. This is not complete. Additions, corrections and comments are very welcome. Please e-mail me

Note 2: Marriage witnessed by Mary Pensfold?) and Sarah Hart. He signed his names as Steers.

Note 2: Mary remarried 30/11/1851 William Puttock, widower from Kirdford. Witnessed by Stephen Tickner (her brother) and Eliza Steer.
She had an illegitimate son Thomas born 13/5/1825 at the house of John Reeves. This was probably John Reeves b abt 1800 who had married Elizabeth Cooper in 1822.. In 1841 was living with his mother and William Steer. A Thomas Tickner died 1895 in Midhurst district born 1825
