Family History


In the name of God Amen I Thomas Humphery of the parish of Wiggenholt in the County of Sussex carpenter being sick and weak but of sounds mind & memory do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following (that is to say). First I comend my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body I comit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named. And as touching the disposition of all such temporall estate I give & devise thereof as followeth. Imprimis I will that my debts & funeral charges shall be paid & discharged. Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Mary the wife of William Hills the sume of five shillings of lawfull money of Great Britain. Item I give & bequeath unto my loving son John Humphery the sume of five shillings of like lawfull money. Item I give & bequeath unto my loving daughter Alice the wife of John Sprinks the sume of five shillings there legacys are to be paid unto them at the end of twelve months after my decease. Item I give unto my son John Humphery all my wearing apparell to be delivered to him at the end of three months after my decease. Item I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my personal estate goods and chattels whatsoever unto my loving wife Sarah Humphery during the term of her natural life & what is then remaining I do further give unto my loving daughter Parnal Humphery & to her heirs forever. Item I do appoint my loving wife Sarah Humphery whome I do hereby make and full and whole executrix of this my last Will & Testamt and I do hereby revoke disanull and make void all former Wills and Testament by me heretofore made either by word of mouth or in writing. In witness whereof I the said Thomas Humphery to this my last Will & Testamt have set my hand & seale this thirtyeth day of April in the year of our Lord 1733. Thomas Humphery his marke & seal.
