Hi Susan I did contact you sometime ago(2011), I am Harriet Blackman's great grandaughter, via her marriage to Henry Wells and their child being my Nanna Shellah Wells...married S Pearce.
I do hope you are still beavering away, I keep dipping in and out as time allows and making slow progress. Have just inherited a family photo album belonging to Harriet, yet to go through it properly but I have photos of Blackman Martha and her children to Henry Wells. I intend to scan them and am happy to share.

My great grandmother was Esther Gumbrill (1851-1890) married to William Oswald Smith (1857-1941) my grandfather was Sydney Smith (1888-1946)
I have been following the family history for a number of years now, and some of your listed names are familiar, eg: Bristow, Botting, Etheridge, Gumbrill.
Generations of my ancestors were from the Sussex area. Your site is a revelation
I`ll certainly be referring to it in the future

I'm researching the Kennard - Steer Family Line as well as the Kennard - Tehan Family Line. My great grandmother was Minnie May Kennard (Tehan) married to Thomas George Kennard (Mary Ann Steer's Grandson). You mentioned a thank you to Eileen Colwell. I'm interested in learning more about this line. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated!
